Boosted iron block 6.0L with 11:1 compression...?

I approve.

Usually not a fan of orange, but you are absolutely right about them calipers with the black rims. Damn.

Keep up the good work. And keep us posted.

Still moving forward. I sent it off to JMS racing to have the intake and exhaust built since I dont have a TIG.

I am really interested in seeing how well the accessory drive system works for you and if you see any substantial belt slip. Is it a 8-rib belt? How hard are you going to turn the blower? What boost do you expect to see?

David

cwylie 09-11-2015 02:03 PM

Yeah its 8 rib. I have a 2.55 pulley for it so it should be 15 lbs of boost or so.

Did Baer finish them in hugger orange for you from the factory or did you have someone paint them to match?
Curious how cars have custom color brake calipers.

waynieZ 09-12-2015 08:44 AM

That orange looks nice back there. What size lower pulley are you using, Is it the 9.17" ?

cwylie 09-15-2015 03:08 PM

The lower is right at 8 inches with the upper at 2.5 should give me about 20-25% overdrive. We will see I guess. The motor is 11.2:1 compression so it should not take much boost for it to make good power on e85. The exhaust is making progress at JMS.

Well I guess I will bring this back to the top because its alive and kicking.

In 2016 I traded this car for a twin turbo C6Z because I was involved in a lawsuit with a home builder which I knew would consume all my project funds. It was a fun car but after the lawsuit was done I regretted giving up on this car. The car changed hands once again during that period of time but I knew who the new owner was. He has it painted but other than that it remained exactly as I left it. I reached out to him last November and ask if he would sell me the car back. Hes a great guy and understand my attachment to the car so we struck a deal and it came home.

I will work on updating this thread as all my old pictures are dead but here is a picture from about 2 months ago right after I redid the firewall and installed the LSA long block.

It looks good, glad to see you have it back.

camcojb 01-05-2021 07:48 PM

Looks fantastic!

Great story!

Congrats on getting it back.:thumbsup:

cwylie 01-06-2021 10:52 AM

It would probably be done if I would stop changing things... haha. This is the second set of wheels and brakes on the car before it was even finished.

alongfortheride 01-07-2021 10:19 AM

Do you by chance have a part number for the upper radiator hose?
