Great question the only thing I know is it will incorporate the Owens Corning stripe down the middle. I'm all over the page after that from black with silver stripe to grey and silver, orange and black or like the Blackwell corvette orange with yellow. I have some time

vstol 11-01-2014 05:49 PM

One header done and starting to build the FIA lights

Love this! I love Corvettes (well.... nothing much after about 1967 - LOL) and this is just turning out so kool!

My older brother is a Marine -- He loved the "warning" sign! As do I!

I've always loved the one that discusses not firing a warning shot... Ammo is expensive... LOL

XLexusTech 11-02-2014 11:14 AM

Looks good ... Heads up bolt up a starter you may have some clearancing to do on that bell housing. :relax:

Thanks I will have the starter on before building the PS headers, I'm just not sure which starter I will go with

I mean the starter to bellhousing the QuickTime needs a lot of grinding to fit all the starters I tried... Kinda pissed me off since they claim that they are designed for OEM starters

Love this project, what wheels and tires are you going to run?

zz430droptop67rs 11-03-2014 07:29 PM

I'm really liking that car.

I even joined the other forum so I could start from day 1.

I got the starter plus ARP bolts from Summit 430-3508, 1 long one short. Not sure where they came up with a short one I need two long bolts and the bolts knurling interferes with the last hole in the starter. Did you have the same issue? thanks

chichirone 11-05-2014 07:35 PM

Great build. Chassis looks stout. Love the flares and the direction of this project.

Finished ACP Stahl headers

WSSix 11-27-2014 04:41 PM

Looks good. Did you braze the pipes to the flange on the outside?

vstol 11-28-2014 03:01 AM

Yes they did and welded the inside

The build should pick up after Christmas. Here is the FIA light set up I got from Jim at Classic Aircraft and Auto Inc. Merry Christmas

vstol 12-27-2014 04:13 AM

No pictures just taking advantage of the warmer wx and sanded the body primer with 220. Body looks very straight, so 320 then 400 and it looks like the painter would like me to go to 600 as well.

mach1stang 12-27-2014 06:43 AM

I gotta make sure wifey doesn't see this! She LOVES this body style vette and I'll never hear the end of how bad she wants to build one!

vstol 12-27-2014 05:40 PM

Thanks as we all know with these projects its just time and money

vstol 02-15-2015 05:10 AM

Winter is slowing me down but the fuel system is plumbed for now and I will get the brakes lines set up today so the body will go on next week then paint right after

Well I decided to paint the car the 2015 Corvette Daytona Sunset Orange metallic with a black Owens Corning Stripe. Here is a pic of the color. Finally dropped the frame off the jacks today and the body will be on in two weeks and off to the paint shop early April.

FLYNAVY53 03-09-2015 04:45 PM

good choice....I think that will look really slick! Did you happen to catch the recent episode on Velocity Channel about the Owens Corning cars?

vstol 03-10-2015 05:56 AM

No I did not see the show, I will look for it.

WSSix 03-10-2015 08:37 AM

x2 that color is going to look good with the flowing lines of the c3 body. Good choice!
