Can a set of 6.5" separate components be installed in these kick panels, and if so where is a good place for the tweeter placement? Do you have any pictures like this to share?

I see where someone removed the park brake and floor dimmer switch to clean up the look on the floor, but if we haven't done that yet will these kick panels still fit?

I installed a set of 6.5 Focal's with separate tweeters on the dash at the corners, and also removed the parking brake, it would have been very difficult for me to install with the brake in place

Cheers

Do you have any pictures of your tweeter setup, and where did you move the park brake?

thanks, Jake

A quick trim to the e brake and the kick will slide right in, as far as tweeters, if you can get them up higher in a pillar or door panel that would be best, if not, run a coax component in the kick.. Here are a few pics of the e brake.. We can pop a hole under the 6.5 for a tweeter there is plenty of room.. Thanks for the feed back guys

Hey Clint, would you mind posting the exact type and color vinyl you use at your shop? I'm getting ready to start wrapping my kicks along with other interior parts and want to use the same vinyl you use. I was looking on the Spralding website and they have a lot of vinyl choices. Don't want to pick the wrong one.

Nothing as of yet. Shop is full of Chevelles. Possibly mid year.

Thanks for the good words!! Some guys have been removing the old style foot switch all together. Panel should pop right in with foot switch.

ADY 09-15-2016 09:45 AM

Installed the kick panels in my '68 Camaro and they look great the speakers sound awesome as well.

Below is my feedback on my install:
  1. Definitely have to notch the bottom of the stock e-brake bracket.
  2. Works with the factory high beam switch, but very tight. I put a few washers under one side to angle the switch away from the panel.
  3. I took off the double sided tape for the speaker covers and used velcro instead so I don't risk breaking the cover when i have to remove the panel in the future.
  4. At least for my 6.5" speakers the cutout in the panel wasn't big enough to allow me to install them after installing the panel, so I'd recommend enlarging the cutoff as much as possible.
  5. I had to cutout a small piece from the top of the panel b/c it was hitting dash support; didn't like I had to do this after the panel was already wrapped, but at least the rough edge isn't noticeable.

Adam, can I ask you a question (off topic) ? What rubber sleeve did you use for the clutch rod going through the firewall ?? I have the McLeod hyd set-up and was looking for something to go over the rod and cover the hole. Thx man.

ADY 10-08-2016 08:44 AM

Sorry, bought the car with the T56 already installed. I'm fairly certain the whole clutch setup was sourced from Hurst Driveline, so might try calling their tech support line. Looking at the invoice, the master cylinder part# was T75-750U.

Thank you!!!

I just received my kick panels. Man, these things look awesome!!! I'm going to have to drill 3 NEW mounting holes, trim the E-Brake bracket, and move the floor dimmer switch for them to install. I was hoping the 3 mounting holes (on new panels) would line up with existing mounting points, that's a no go for my 69. Also its a good idea to adjust the E-Brake pedal (tighten up) so as to limit travel of the pedal, otherwise the pedal will hit the kick panel.

Thanks a ton for the purchase and the feed back, it seems that most of these installs do vary slightly from one to another with the e brake and dimmer switch. We have had a few in the shop that were easy peasy and a few where the E brake dose get just a a slight trim. Thanks again!

Ordered mine this week

Looking forward to receiving my order. I think it's the best looking setup around. Hope mods are kept to a minimum. It is tight under the dash as it is, and I have already had issues with the emergency brake light switch and the AWW wire harness fuse block.
Thanks.

Good morning, I called a couple weeks back but failed to receive a return call. I am wrapping up my restoration and while installing my r/h kick it broke in half right where the main section where the speaker resides to the thin vertical piece that covers the pinch weld. I like the kicks and would like to get a replacement. I do not need the speaker enclosure or grill just the plastic kick. Please advise a path forward. I purchased brand new through here on Lateral G so I should be on your books. Vehicle is a 69 Firebird convertible. Thank you.

Please give me a call Tim, we have never had any of these panels break to date. Also It looks like these were purchased in 2014. I believe these were blemished correct? 954-440-0251 Thanks. Clint 954-440-0251

Clint, Thank you so very much for the immediate response. Yes, 2014 purchase and you offered up some blems at a reduced price when I purchased. Thank you for sending out a replacement panel !
They fit very well, look great are are a nice enhancement for front lower speakers. Thank you for taking care of me well after the sale.

We have started sending out all kick panels with tweeter openings in the grills, prior I would send grills out with tweeter hole and get the standard grills back, the installer will have to mount the tweeter in the panels. Our rear trays and sail panels are also all pre cut for a component as well.
