Even though those are not the actual wheels, those look great on there. The white on the Chevelle is also refreshing.

Wow.

Everything you guys touch turns to gold!

syborg tt 06-05-2014 08:03 AM

:hail: I guess I will just hang my head and kick the dirt. How are we supposed to live up to these creations that come out of this shop? Amazing....

I'm going to buy a lottery ticket... If I win, I'm calling 847-949-7637...

I used to say I knoew who I was calling if I won the lottery. Now, after finding LAT-G, I would not dare let them touch my car. RS sets a bar so high....

Looking good guys!

Time for a long overdue update on this build. We completed Robert's Chevelle and debuted it at the Good Guys show in Ft. Worth, TX where it was selected by Kenny Davis for a Builder's Choice Award. Big thanks to Kenny for the pick! Robert took the car from there and made the 250 mile maiden voyage to home after the show.

Paul Atkins knocked the interior out of the park on this one! A great modern take on the traditional 1970 Chevelle design.

:ohsnap:

Any chance you could post a few more photos? I'd really like to see more under the hood kinda shots.

Ricochet 10-07-2014 11:43 PM

Very nice! Very clean and simple and well thought out build. Seems like white is the new black lately. I like it!

I'd like to see some of the complete car? Maybe the profile or inside my garage.

Beautiful car, my car builder has a RS chassis going into a first gen Camaro right now and the chassis itself is a work of art.

ScotI 10-08-2014 03:24 PM

I checked this one out @ GG's FtWorth..... Outstanding fit & finish. I really love the OE appearance w/the killer drivetrain & chassis. Interior was beautiful as well.

tones2SS 10-08-2014 05:13 PM

Wow, what a beautiful car.
Well done again Roadster Shop.

Rick D 10-08-2014 05:21 PM

Yep- that's it. If I had to have one car, a '70 vert on an RS chassis would be it. That checks all boxes for me. Great job.

Al Moreno 10-09-2014 04:15 PM

Yup, it just doesn't get much better than that! :king:

Rick,...you nailed it bro.
I love the "almost 100% completely stock" exterior with a killer interior and updated driveline and brakes.
Awesome car.

ScotI 10-10-2014 10:14 AM

What were the final wheel & tire sizes? If I recall it had an 18/20 combo?

Zoomin 10-11-2014 07:17 PM

Where was this hiding at GG's? I must've been busy lusting over the chassis that were on display.

At what point during this incredible metal work do you think this guy thought to himself..."Yup, I think its ready for paint!" It is amazing how something that looked as good as the original car, could end up like this. We looked the car over pretty well before disassembly and had no idea of what laid underneath.

http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/s...psd63b4cda.jpg

What was left of the wheel opening and outer wheel house.
http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/s...psb385687f.jpg

There wasn't a wave, a bubble, a sand scratch, a shrinkage mark... nothing anywhere in this quarter. the trim fit nicely all around the convertible top... no signs of what was underneath. Oh well, nothing that an entire parts catalog can't fix!

My worst fear realized. I'm in the shopping phase for a 66 or 67 Chevelle and I'm not expecting miracles or deal of the year, but avoiding this is what we all try to do. That is some amazing mud work, that's for sure.
As usual, you made a work of art out of it. You are amazing chef's to make such a salad from such **t.
