Great choice with the wood bed, Aaron. I love seeing these truck built up but keeping something so classic as the wood bed. Wheels look fantastic as well. Good luck!

Great build, love the choice on wheels, wood bed, etc. Keep the pictures coming.

Custom solid side trim! We will be selling this soon as a product. It matches the original 67/68 trim profile without the seams and dents of the originals. This will end at the wheel wells like the 69-72's rather than arch over.

Fitting trim and tying up loose ends. Hopefully we'll start some bodywork the beginning of the week.

Aaron,
Congrats on getting your own shop. Well deserved. When I stumbled upon this thread, I thought to myself, "this reminds me of DSE quality" Now I know why. LOL. How long have you been on your own?

Best wishes,
JIm

Thanks Jim! Since about May of this past year.

Is the trim machined on the back side for stock style clips? And will you be selling the honeycomb grill?

Looking really good...."very clean, very tight"

The trim is drilled and tapped with 10-24 studs so no more flimsy clips! I'm getting another grill finished up for a customer this week. It won't be a production item right now but can be built to order.

Looking good... I love a decent C10.

How long can you make that trim? I think it would finish off the window frame of my tow rig. A 1956 Diamond T with a custom sleeper based on a 56 Spartan trailer.

What I'd want to do is come off the top of the frame at a 45 and go straight back to the end. Distance is about 10' on one side and 6' on the other.

Thanks. They'll be finishing the remaining bodywork and painting it.

You're in luck, it comes in 12' lengths. Let me know if I can help.

I've worked with Joe and Paul in the past. They do great work and their team has the manpower to get the paint and body knocked out. Fingers crossed we'll get this back in time for final assembly to make Columbus.

I really like that. Did you make it? It looks similar to the Marquez piece.

I want one.

Tell me about your hood struts? Looks like they allow the hood hinges to open more than the ones supplied by Porterbuilt? Mine won't open my cowl hood (that's cut for my blower) far enough or hold it open.

Thanks, yes I made it here. I'd offer to build you one like it but this truck is gone to paint and body so I would need yours.

I used the Porterbuilt hinges, but ordered them without the shocks. I've given up on the small shocks from other builds since they always seem to weaken over time. The longer ones are way smoother and more reliable. I think they're 25lbs each instead of the mini ones that are 300lbs + with limited leverage. Not sure about how far it opens, I just propped it where it looked right and installed the ball studs there.
