Great work. All of those subtle modifications won't be noticed by regular people, but people who know these cars will be impressed when it's in paint. I like the direction you're going. All of those hours will be worth it in the end.

Nice work , I am building a 70 pro tour as well, was thinking I would call the thread I post " another pro touring 70" but you beat me to it. Now that I see those wheel wells I'm going to do the same thing, very nice

Its been a while since I posted. I got the front end assembled surprisingly the reproduction urethane nose fit better then expected just had to do a little bit of work to make it fit good. Welded up the front bumpers so they are smooth. Had to straighten out the brackets since they were tweaked a little bit.
Also got the back half of the car primed and blocked still have a couple more blockings to do to get it perfect. Getting the lower valance to fit was a nightmare picked up a good used one since my original was tweaked and rusted but it turns out the one I picked up was also tweaked and was missing one of the brackets for the nose piece so i ended up taking the two and making one. :superhack: Also started making close out panels for the fenders.Got the front ones done and just made templates for the rears until I get time to make those. http://i963.photobucket.com/albums/a...pstxvnmjqy.jpg http://i963.photobucket.com/albums/a...psjuqbpvgl.jpg http://i963.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps70ywho7z.jpg http://i963.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps0rozgnhv.jpg http://i963.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps0vshvwt4.jpg http://i963.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps9ziq1avp.jpg http://i963.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps4kd7mkl2.jpg http://i963.photobucket.com/albums/a...psafujks9s.jpg http://i963.photobucket.com/albums/a...psw8dq55oe.jpg http://i963.photobucket.com/albums/a...psvm3zntvm.jpg |
Looking good. Nice work going on.
I like how you left some character on the bumpers. Too flush makes it look fake and you lose the curves the car is known for. |
Everything looks great! Love all the little and big details! Going to be a great car!!
|
Coming along great,Love the small details. What wheels are you running?

You are doing a great job. Keep the pics coming.

A carb?! That's blasphemy! lol just kidding. What made you decide to go that route?
The car is looking great. I dig the old school look with the orange paint and air cleaner base. Keep up the good work! |

The car looks great. I love the way the close out panels look. Great job.

It is a good look. There was a 69 Camaro here at Caffeine and Octane a few months back. He did the swap with I want to say the FAST self learning EFI. Used old school looking valve covers and a normal air cleaner. It looked right at home in the car. I think most people walked past it without realizing what it really was. I nearly kicked myself because I stood there for way too long looking at the headers and scratching my head thinking it couldn't be a big block, the heads aren't wide enough.

Camaro is looking good. You always have some nice cars parked in your driveway. I'd love to add 2dr 2wd Tahoe to my growing list off projects.

So great so far, keep up the good work!

Its been a while since i posted on here been busy working on the car. Got the cage all fit and welded up also got the vintage air condenser and evaporator mounted. Also made closeouts for the inner fender wells. Got a pair of builder Recaros and made the headrests so they look like the short 70's. Also picked up a set of Ringbrothers hood hinges from there black Friday sale. Man do they make the hood open and close nicely

It just keeps looking better and better !

Been awhile since I last posted. Had to get a new hood because when sand blasting the original hood it warped it a bit so it was just easier to get another one then to try and fix the original. Got the corvette vent mounted in it and also took out the rear cowl vent also made a pan to the bottom of the hood so that it seals to the bottom of the hood. Got the griffin radiator and made brackets for it so that I dont have to use original radiator top mount. Got the master cylinder setup from Keith at Custom Works. Made a bracket for the clutch reservoir so that they all line up together. Ordered a dashpad from NPD and had to cut it for the down bars then made filler plates to fill the gap. Now to blow it all apart and get it ready for paint.

Looks great!

Great work! you have a lot of skill.
What did you score the seats from? |
Wow nice work. I really like the subtle mods.
|
Love your work! Got a question for you with the tabs you welded to the radiator. I was under the impression that a radiator needed room to expand and contract a bit as it heated and cooled off. Similar to the way factory radiators are usually in roomy grommets. What you did would be a great way to keep the radiator in place for me as I have been trying to figure out what to do with it.
|
Awesome build man.
|
I really like where your going with the center console and of course the rest of the car.

Nice work! Really dig the Corvette hood vents

Well it was time to tear the car down so I could paint everything and undercoat the underside. Blocked the whole car down then pulled it apart. Painted the firewall, sub frame and the rear end. Then I undercoated the bottom side with u pol raptor. Got the sub frame and rear end reassembled in the car. Waiting on a couple of small things to bolt the motor and transmission together then put it in the car then the car can go to the body shop to get painted.

Very Nice! Great job.

I don't think I missed it but what are you planning with the +/- terminals in the transmission tunnel?
