I think these new direct injection engines are cool. Remember talking to Mark at an event about these engines. He was telling me how their was an entire floor at GM designated to writing tune on these engines. He thought the aftermarket was going to have problems installing cams, etc., and getting them to run properly. I guess time will tell.

Its a good thing in stock form they are the cats meow, as always, very cool build.

I have heard the same thing. But it doesn't take long for the aftermarket to catch up. I bet it will be longer then usual due to the success and huge following the LS engine has. There is really nothing for these engines and they have been out for a few years already.

Our prototype rear spoiler should be here today to get installed on the trunk lid. We made the prototype in Billet aluminum to see about making some production units in carbon fiber. We hogged out ever area we could to make it as light as possible. It has the same bolt hole pattern as the stock production spoilers. Should be a cool piece. We are also going to make a bolt on flap to increase down force like the z28.

Put me on the waiting list if you do mass produce the lid spoiler in CF along with the wicker bill wing.

WSSix 01-26-2016 07:14 AM

Rodger, out of curiosity, do you guys have anything planned for the supercharger lid as a means of removing or covering up the "corvette" scrip? Good luck with the spoiler. It looks great.

Thanks

Not sure, the owner likes the look of factory appeal or a stock appearing. We are doing quite a few custom parts we plan to bring to market for these cars so unless we feel the car needs it. At this point it was not my list. We are trying to be one of the first with an LT4. So if we remove that stuff most will have no idea what it is.

WSSix 01-26-2016 07:39 AM

Understandable. You guys do such a great job with engine covers that I wasn't sure what if anything was planned. I wonder if there wouldn't be a market for a somewhat generic LT4 billet cover? I'm assuming it's fairly simple in terms of design but I could be very wrong.

Thanks guys. We are very excited to get the car on the road this summer.

RPitts 02-01-2016 08:29 AM

Love the look of that rear spoiler! Count me in for one if you produce. Who's tail lights are those?

98ssnova 02-01-2016 09:31 AM

Why doesn't anybody make cool stuff like this for 3rd Gen Novas? I like the spoiler as well very cool.

ironworks 02-01-2016 09:32 AM

Couple more pictures after the show this morning.

Some pictures of the rear spoiler. We plan to make them in Carbon very soon. But if you want one in Aluminum just like this they are 2800 each in a group of 3. The spoiler is hogged out on the bottom side. The trunk works just fine with the stock trunk springs. The gap on the quarter is tall to allow a guy to sand the bottom and fit it to the car when its body worked.

That fuel filler idea is genius. I was all set to move mine to the tail pan in my 69 until I saw this. How is the connection to the tank going to be done ? Can you post some pictures. I just about ready to place my fuel tank order with DSE
THANKS

The fuel filler we did will work better with the custom tank Rick's tank sells. It kinda works like a mustang tank. We will probably sell this bracket as kit here shortly.

Efi69Cam 02-05-2016 09:46 AM

Looks incredible. I love the subtly custom yet OEM look especially the engine compartment.

I have a cam, CAI, pulleys and headers in the 2015 Z06... if you look over at Corvette Forum, there is a lot for them.

I have Calloway building another 2015 we bought due to the longer 100K warranty.

ironworks 02-10-2016 04:55 PM

When you get back from the show less then 2 weeks ago and its time to button up all the loose ends to send it to the blaster for epoxy primer, next month.

Hey I was going to ask if you had an Ironworks part number for that fancy yellow retainer? Figured you might have gotten tired of all the extremely intricate brackets you build. Diggin the build.

I'm probably as scared of the new LT engine as I was of the LS engine 15 years ago.

No part number for the all in one mount every thing to anything bracket. I'm in the patent phase right now.

There is nothing to be scared of. They all suck squeeze bang and blow.

57hemicuda 02-17-2016 05:16 PM

All 4 strokes, but some make you cry worse when they blow. $$$$$

Air-bender 02-17-2016 09:16 PM

How long before the spoiler will be available and will it be adjustable like the Z28? Thanks

I can have the spoiler made now, in billet but its very expensive. We shoudl have some carbon units in a few months. I have to do bit more fit up testing. As far as adjustable it will be either or situation. You either have the extension or you don't.

And created an account back in December two years ago just to post now?

Sorry, not really a mystery. I build jet boats for a living, even put an LS, LQ, LM in a few. I use the fab skills I see here to inspire some of my builds.

Big fan of Camaro's, ever since my Uncle rolled up in a 1978 Gen II when I was a kid. Of course I thought it was a Trans Am (Knight Rider and Smokey and the Bandit were on TV in that era), which my uncle quickly corrected.

Enough hi-jacking, I read the post and couldn't resist the reply.
