Aluminum is lighter so it makes it easier on the front end suspension to corner better.

I am pretty sure I saw this thing sitting on the back of a flatbed tractor trailer heading east on I80 just west of Reno NV a couple of days ago, just caught a quick glimpse as I was heading the other way with the family.
