Good idea, it looks good. Nice job.

Looks like a very fun build. Keep up the good work. Looking forward to seeing it around.

Very nice build. Somehow missed this thread.
Love the sheet metal work, this is one area i wished i could've spent more time in. A couple questions, you going to run stock inner fenders? Are there stock p#'s from the Spectra tubes?(i'm gonna redo my cold air when car gets back from paint) Did you have too tunnel for the T-56 with the DSE set up? I didn't but i'm not convinced that its at optimized degrees with not tunneling with my DSE set up. What drive shaft you going too run? Cheers, mike |

Yeah, of all the mods, the floor pans for the exhaust clearance was the best one. It snowed a lot here this winter so I put some time in the garage. Yes running stock inner fenders. The part numbers for the Spectrs tubes are: These are Summit Racing part number, SPE-97991 SPE-97490 SPE-9749 I'm actually running a stock subframe with a Speedtech Street Fighter setup, with there ATS T-56 crossmember. For the trans tunnel I raised the stock tunnel a couple inches and the front part of the tunnel I had to make a new piece to get the clearance. As soon as I get the rear end back in the car I'm going to be ordering a Denny's 1350 series 3 inch Nitrous Ready Driveshaft complete with Transmission Slip Yoke. Hope this helps, Sandro |
Yeah it does, thanx.
I'd like to change the inner fenders, but nothings really available. thanx on the p#'s Love the driveshaft option, "Nitrous ready", never really thought about that before but it makes serious sense (whether your going that route or not, torque is torque)..... Cheers, mike |
I got lucky and picked up a set of Carbon, Fiberglass from Anvil as the only other option would be to modify your stock inner fenders.
On a side note I have my fingers crossed that Speed Tech will start making them for 2nd gens. Quote:

Sandro great job on all the mods to your car! It looks like a top shelf build and I love that your doing it yourself. Not sure but did you sell your orange 69 Camaro? I love that car!!!!

Wheels arived last week from Matt's Classic Bowties, great service btw!
I also have my ricks stainless tank, that I'm running the PressureWorx fuel module control system. I might of over though this fuel setup but after speaking to Carl at vaporworkx it should run flawlessly. Finished up my wiring under dash and started working on my rear interior panels for the mini tub stretch. Basically waiting for my motor from engine shop so I can install my drivetrain, then back to bodyshop for final body work and paint. I threw some sheetmetal on the car to get a look at the wheels. I'm happy I spent the money on the Forgeline's, the quality looks incredible! |
Some pics from brake and fuel lines

I installed stainless lines for fuel and brake lines and bought everything from inline tube.
I picked up a, K Tool Professional Brake Flaring Tool Kits 70081 from Summit Racing and it made flaring the lines a snap. Also had to order a brake line straightening tool as the lines come coiled up for easy shipment. |
what is the front tires size?

You've haven't been around for a while. Glad to see you still at it. Your call looks awesome !!!
Any pics of the 1/4 panels(interior) you had to redo? I always wonder how one would do them. Was it hard? Do you glass them to finish or do something entirely different to mimmic the grain pattern? |

I just started the interior panels, but as soon as I have them filled and painted I'll post more pics. I used 2 inch metal strips, screwed together with sheet metal screws to fit them in the car. After I had them fitting the way I wanted, I formed some 18 gauge sheetmetal from 3 different pieces to get the shape and then welded them together. I used some 1/8" rivets to join the metal to the plastic. I can't really say how this is going to turn out, but looks promising so far. Once I have them filled, I'm going to retexure them with Sem texturing paint, then I'll paint them with the interior black paint. I have a feeling these interior panels are not that easy to paint too. I'm trying some adhesion promoter between all my coats of filler and paint. If they end up cracking, chipping I'll just get them upholstered. |
Thanks. That clears it up some. I

Since you are in Burnaby, you could try Fiber-tek, or industrial Plastics. They might have some ideas on what type of products you could use. I think a lot of it depends on the plastics
If you wanted to do the work, they have the products there to be able to make a mould of your panel then recast it in fiber glass |
Couple updates!

Took a chance and installed my own headliner, it actually turned out near perfect. Few YouTube videos later and it was in!
Also finished one of my rear seat interior panels. I have some serious hours in these. Lol They turned out fairly nice, pretty hard to tell they’ve been stretched. |
Details on the inner panel procedure you used to get that finish? That looks amazing.
Thanks, jim |

Some slow progress on my car. Most of the car is sorted out, I’ve found a new shop to paint the car. Hopefully I’ll have it all wrapped up over the winter. The last guy that was supposed to paint the car was a huge letdown to say the least. The only positve part is its taken so long that better parts have become available.
|
This is such a beautiful build! I love it.
|
I just love this car and it looks so nice.
On a Side note what color are you planning on painting the car. |

Its going to be 2008 Corvette machine silver with the black z28 stripes. I loved the way SW’s camaro looked in that color. |
Oh, it's going to look great in silver. Here's hoping the second shop does you right.
|
Sweet build!
Attention to detail makes all the difference! |
"its taken so long that better parts have become available"
Aint that the truth, good luck with the new paint shop |
