Thank you ... the problem is I have major OCD, all i could see was the flaws, and I knew I could build a nicer interior so I just had to get it there ... now it's flawless and now I'm happy with it.

Funny, now I'm building a 1970's Toyota FJ40 Landcruiser and somehow (for now) im happy just to build it as a driver (full LS with a bad a$$ interior of course lol) .. this one I am keeping

Cheers

Don't want to derail this incredible Camaro thread, we might get banned...

If I get a chance tonight, I'll start an FJ40 thread and we can keep each other motivated.

I had a 72 FJ40 all beat to hell but I loved it. Still do like them.

Ketzer 04-26-2017 09:18 PM

I started an FJ thread over in the trucks section. Stories, comments welcome.

Steve,
On your push button parking brake switch, is it a momentary switch? When I did mine, I used a momentary rocker that you had to hold down until it was engaged as much as you wanted it, and then held down to release. Can you just push the button once to fully extend and then push once to retract? If so, I gotta' switch to this button.

Thanks,
Carl

Sheck44 04-29-2017 04:17 AM

Parking brake button

Carl, its the button that came with the E-Stopp kit so I believe that you push it once and it engages. I'll hopefully be installing the actual unit in the next couple of weeks and I'll let you know

Cheers

Yes, one quick push to engage, one quick push to release. It's not the button though, it is the controller that comes with the E-Stopp. It has a microcontroller to give it some smarts....

Thanks Don, I was pretty sure this was the case but didn't want to give Carl the wrong advice

Steve

I put one in my wife's 69 convertible. Had to defeat the safety feature that prevents the brake from engaging when the car is running so I could engage the brake while moving in reverse to adjust the brake.

So HUGE thanks to the guys at SPL Tuning in Dundas Ontario, and Andrew specifically that dialed this car in and tuned this beast to get 740 foot lbs of torque to the rear wheels

I called Estopp and asked about the switch, and yes it has a module that goes with it that does everything. They said they would sell me the switch or the switch and module since I've already got the actuator. Really nice and helpful people too, by the way..

I don't think the switch without the controller will be very useful. Summit sells the module and switch if I remember right. Unless your actuator draws the same amount of current as the E-Stopp actuator I am not sure how it will operate properly. The controller senses the current to determine when to stop the actuator if I understood it correctly.

I'm telling ya', the more I look at their complete setup, the more I like it. I like their cable management system. I may have to bite the bullet and buy their whole system. Mine was cool for a while (if I could only be satisfied with what I have since it works) Theirs is just way cooler!

That my friend is a great question!!!
I will likely end up twin turbo LS, and I may just run straight pipe out the rear part of the rockers. I'm a long way from that right now, so I'll play it by ear.
