Looking good bro. I can wait to see you stuff some fat rubber out back.

NAPA 68 02-03-2018 03:49 PM

The trans tunnel is done along with the driveshaft tunnel to make room for a 4" driveshaft.

Wheel of choice.........................

http://i1043.photobucket.com/albums/...psnotcy5rb.jpg

And now building the exhaust. I wanted the tail pipes to go over the axle. It's going to be tight, but it will fit and work.....

I will be able to fit the tail pipes between the frame rails and the fuel tank to hide them the way I wanted to.

I'll take the opportunity to give a shout out to Ididit. I purchased one of their columns about 7 years ago. The top of the column had become sloppy. When calling them for parts, they asked for the serial number and told me where to find it.
Without asking for dates, proof of purchase.....................asked nothing...........They offered to repair the column, free of charge. All I had to do was ship it to them. What a pleasant surprise.

Tore apart the headlight buckets for blasting and power coat

Nice progress. You should be driving pretty soon.

Good to know on the IDidIt column. I was looking at those and a friend was trying to talk me into a Flaming River. I really liked the IDidIt column a bit better and I felt (pure opinion) it was built a little better. For me service post sale is often the deciding factor in decisions like these.

Great guy!

Absolutely love this build! I had a 59 Bel Air and sold it..... really regretting it now. I'm in the Milwaukee area, I can't wait to see your ride at some local shows!

Boss 5.0 03-30-2018 05:29 AM

Fantastic build.

I have had similar experience with Ididit. I was given one of their columns for a Christmas gift once. Never came out of the box for several years, then that project was sold off. The new project needed a different size column. When I reached out to them, they said as long as I covered shipping then they would swap one for the other free of charge. This was at least 5 years later. I was blown away. How many companies would do that?? They will always get my business and support. They know good customer service!

gofastwclass 03-30-2018 08:38 PM

What are you going to do for a brake booster? I'm running hydroboost on my 61 Impala and I love it.

x 2 on the Hydroboost.............It's Fun spending Tracy's money !!!!!!!

NAPA 68 03-31-2018 09:31 AM

I am going to run a hydroboost. I should have just gotten one from work and made the mounting plate for it. I was told 3-4 weeks when I ordered it, we are now on 7. A bit frustrated. I'll leave names out of the discussion for now.

gofastwclass 03-31-2018 12:39 PM

Bummer about the delay. Nothing more irritating than ordering something that takes longer than anticipated.

From these guys here................

I have since found out they sublet the wheel work to someone else. I must admit, they have been good to deal with.

Three weeks, 53 days.. it's like horseshoes or hand grenades. How close do you want to be? :sarcasm_smiley:

On a positive front it looks nice. Looks like this bracket turns the nitrogen cylinder to the top. Is that correct?

Yup........................and moves the fittings to the left of the M/C which packages much better.

gofastwclass 04-07-2018 05:44 PM

gofastwclass 04-16-2018 08:40 PM

Nice on the powder coat!

Plus those knock off wheels are cool.

I see the holes where the block off plate was installed, which AC system are you going to run?

I noticed the larger hole for the wiring. Is that for an American Autowire Highway One kit?
