So are you not at Scott's any more?

I was curious how a project like this fit into your job. Is it a true side project or did Cary go through Scott's? Just curious, and perhaps its not something you'd care to discuss.

Love following along!

Yeah, valid questions.

first off, no I am not at Scott's any more.

I started with Trick-Tools back in January.

Last year though, Carey asked me if I could get it done. Justin allowed me to work it into the work schedule at Scott's and Carey paid Scott's for the build. this allowed me the opportunity to build it while not having to make it a side job.

I think it worked out well for everyone involved.

Thanks! Once all of the welds are metal finished out I DA sanded every panel starting at 150 grit then step up to 220, 400, 800,1200 and then used metal polish from ShineSupply called Cloud9 to bring out the luster. A lot of work.....

OMG. Pure art. How long did it take you to master the fab skills it takes to build this? 1 - 2 weeks? LOL. Mind boggling workmanship !!! A step (or two) ahead of DSE

Haha, 2 weeks plus 12 years and 50 weeks. I've been fabricating for over 13 years. thanks for the compliments. how do you mean "ahead of DSE"?

I appreciate the gesture. DSE is a great company and has notched their place in hot rodding history. I have a long long way to go for that.

Thanks Charley, I believe that most people could do this if they had the 13 years of almost daily practice that I have. I really do believe that, I didn't know a damn thing about sheet metal work when I got my first job. I just try to learn something new every time I touch metal.

Any reason you used AD rivets? You could have used A's which are softer and may have been easier to shoot in the 3003.

to be honest, I only ordered the rivets based on the lengths I needed. I just asked my B25 guys what they used and went from there. they seamed to be easy. just a couple knocks with my riveter and on to the next.
