That's what I thought, but I didn't want to ask in fear of Charley's wrath. I have a feeling he misses that car.

Great ! Thanks Scott for the feature!!! Is it typo or what but it said this cars has a DSE 5 link suspension ? Should it be 4 link ?

XcYZ 08-22-2006 11:10 AM

That's the term that Mark uses, so I just went with that. It's accurate if you think about it. :)

Yes i agree with you. Panhard bar actually is the 5th link

rwhite692 08-22-2006 11:51 AM

....and more links are better, after all. :D

Damn True 08-22-2006 12:56 PM

So does that make the Lateral-Dynamics system a 6-link?

Sales@Dutchboys 08-22-2006 12:59 PM

Looks good.....

Well, if you count the Panhard bar, it would be a 4 link. That should confuse some people. lol

Ummm.... Three link, plus the TWO links of the Watts link... I think that makes it a 5-link as well.

I call it a pivot, which doesn't make it a link. At least not in my opinion. MARK!!!!! WE NEED AN ANSWER!!!!!!

I know! I wish mine still had the old black plates. I have no idea why my GP's got rid of them.

LOL, I totally spaced that out. You'd think I'd remember since I did Mark's website. :_paranoid

20 lashes!

Rybar 08-22-2006 04:48 PM

Does anybody know if the car is minitubbed? And what size are the wheels/tires? Hard to tell in the pics.

Steve1968LS2 08-22-2006 05:04 PM

LOVE the car.. however I liked the wheels in the rendering more that the ones ultimatly used. Why the change?

Other than that I am dying to see the car in person. I love (what I can see of it) the packaging of the LS7 into the car and how/where they fit the oil tank.

Very cool!

Teetoe_Jones 08-22-2006 06:08 PM

Ryan-

It is indeed mini tubbed with the DSE kit, he is running the 18x9/18x12 combo, with I think a 335 rear Michelin tire.

Steve-
Fikse just released this variation of the Profil 5S for racing, so it has some special features that Mark wanted. I like 'em.

I don't dislike them.. just like the rendered ones better :)

We need some performance data from that car.. I have this equipment.. lol

no roll bar?

No caqe/bar?? Did I miss something or is it not existent?

The car is really growing on me, it took some looking at to appreciate it. The blacked out tail and black wheels look great. The black center wheel thing was starting to get played out, but it looks just perfect on this car, very well executed. It would almost seem like people would like it just because stielow built it, but it is a very well done car IMO. Its nice to see something simple and meaningful for a change, instead of so many cars that get built for looks(whos not guilty of wanting your car to look good) At first it seemed too familiar to the mule, but now after looking at it, it just happens to be the same year/model built by the same builder and that is just his taste. Hope someone gets some good use out of it, like the Mule I would love to see some shots or hear about some action on the track/autocross!

BTW the ATS headers look killer! Wish I could afford to have something like that built, ground clearnace sucks with four 2" pipes stacked under the car.

Damn True 08-22-2006 07:22 PM

If you look closely you can see what looks to be a DSE 4-point bar in the back.

Scott thanks for all the pics! It was nice to see all the detail...I like the wheels!!

Datsbad 08-22-2006 08:16 PM

It nice to see a car come together so nice with just the right parts . Not over the top . Very cool car .

awr68 08-22-2006 08:47 PM

I guess the question is, will this one run The One Lap of America before it's set to Charley?? I'd like to see this one used at the track first!!

Does this car have an e-brake?

I find myself just staring at all these pics...I love the back to basics (performance) look, although we all know there is far more to the car than what you first see...

I didn't see a handle or foot lever. I though he might have used a Lokar handle again, but I don't see one.....

XcYZ 08-23-2006 08:16 PM

Maybe its not hooked up yet, but I remember Mark commenting on the parking brake, so I know the mechanicals are installed.

shineym3 09-01-2006 07:37 PM

Does anybody know who's parking brake was used?

I also noticed that the pictures of the car in its more 'original' state that at least on one of the quarters has been worked on replaced; was this replaced and anybody know who's quarters were used?

Any more video of that thing?
