SSLance 03-02-2019 02:44 PM

Is this not finished yet? 😁

waynieZ 03-02-2019 03:12 PM

That cooler eats up some room, Good thing that diesel is shorter than the six. It looks nice in there.

Sheck44 03-02-2019 06:07 PM

Lance ... LMAO !
Actually have 5 days to finish it for the BIG show

Wayne, surprisingly there is more **** and less room with this 4 banger R2.8 than the 6.oL LS in the grey one

Very nice,you guys are moving.

SSLance 03-06-2019 07:56 PM

All hands on deck!! Is it done yet?!?! :D

Personally, I like the looks of this one better than the grey one. I think it's the wheels...

Great job guys...

Sheck44 03-07-2019 02:50 AM

D day

UPDATE ....

First off thanks to everyone for the great feedback on both of these FJ40's

My guy was up until 4:00 am trying to wrap up a few items but it's in show form at least

Lance, this is exactly why I wanted to build 2 of these and display 2 totally different builds of the same vehicle ... lets see what the 'people' decide on

I can't wait to get these side by side today !!

Stay tuned, I will start a new thread after the weekend with reviews and comments from the show

Sincerely
Steve

rickpaw 03-07-2019 04:13 AM

Looks great Steve.

I'm with Lance. I like the stance/look of this over the grey one. Maybe because the grey one is lifted too much? Does this one have any lifts in it?

Tu

waynieZ 03-07-2019 10:51 AM

Glad to hear you got it where it needs to be for the show. I'll be watching for pictures from the show. NICE!

Sheck44 03-07-2019 02:53 PM

All set up ....

Here is the 1st pic ... and the only one of my ugly mug you'll ever see !!
TU ... Grey has a 4" lift, and the blue 2"

Sheck44 07-12-2020 03:59 AM

I'm back ....

Hi guys ... well after some hiatus I am back and somewhat on track. Went through a separation and had to take some time off the trucks but now I am in a very good place and could not be happier !!!

So, just to recap, we actually took 1st and 2nd place at the show for best 4X4's !!
(above)

Both trucks have been stored since the show until a couple of months ago and now its time to finally finish the 66' which leads me to say that we 'may' have our 1st start of this Cummins R2.8 today !!

I will report back shortly, and just wanted to say its good to be back ...

Welcome back. I'm sorry to hear of the separation but glad to hear you're doing well. Good luck getting the Cummins going. Let me know how you like the engine. I used to work for Cummins. I now work for Deutz.

raustinss 07-12-2020 08:16 AM

Glad you're back Steve , sorry to hear about your personal life but , guess that's how life goes sometimes . If you need a beer drinking assistant let me know I'm up for a drive lol .

Sheck44 07-13-2020 03:42 AM

Thank you

Thanks guys ... Ryan hope you are doing well my friend

Trust me guys, this was my decision, life was not heading in the right direction for me so I had to make a significant change and now I could NOT be better !!

Now I have one of these back in my life !!!

That NineT is sweet!
Riding has always been great for helping me clear my thoughts and quiet all the unwanted noise. I have to focus on the riding, doesn't allow for outside junk.
Glad to hear you have taken a step toward a more positive future!

That fit worked out so great! The room to run that badass radiator and that big intercooler! So awesome!

Sheck44 07-16-2020 03:59 PM

so the little 4 R2.8 may not look like much but this little turbo diesel is expected to put out almost 500 foot Lbs of torque

Looking PURDY now !!!
