Cool you're going with the Gen1 SBC. And a SuperRam EFI to boot.

I know LS is all the rage these days, but the SBC is a definitely tried and true engine.

EDIT: Just saw the Miniram in a later post. Awesome manifold... I'm also running one.

Update

Aschle 05-15-2024 10:59 AM

Decided that I am finally going to paint the car. The drivetrain is pretty solid, so now the cosmetics are the priority. I'm shaving all of the emblems, filling all of the unnecessary holes that have been poked in the past for door edge guards. There have been a couple spots pop up that I was not aware of under the old paint, so that all needs to be addressed too. I bought the paint, went with "Tropical Glitz" brand, Seductive candy blue... Should be nice when I get it done, at least I hope so !!! haha

Great job Jason!!

Good luck with the paint and body.

Making very slow progress... I hope to have the rest of the car epoxy primed tomorrow, then I will have a buddy give me a hand with the body work. I found a few damage areas that were likely "repaired" in the 70s Regardless, the car is relatively solid.

Nice work and I looking forward to seeing it in primer.

Far from the progress I have hoped for, but I am slowly getting closer.

This is taking quite a while since I am not a professional builder, welder, fabricator, none of that. Just a guy with desire to build my car myself...

camcojb 03-12-2025 12:26 PM

Progress even slow is still good progress.

Roscoe03 03-12-2025 07:24 PM

Looking awesome!

Started the gaps last night. I will get it, no matter how many times I have to cut and reweld / sand, etc.

Nice updates and it is awesome seeing what you are doing in your garage.

WSSix 03-18-2025 06:45 PM

Keep up the great work and attitude. This can be so time consuming and frustrating.

Got the epoxy primer on the car. For me, this was a big step in the right direction (mentally).

camcojb 03-24-2025 08:39 AM

Almost looks painted. Gives a much better look as a finished car to me.

The car is coming along great!

Good on you for tackling this magnitude of a paint and body job project, this way the thousands saved could go towards other fine refinements to your ride. The cost of a nice paint job nowadays has gone nuts for us hobby guys with shops staying busy with the commuter paint job stuff which is gravy to them. Back in 2012 I spent what today seems like a bargain for my professional strip/ paint job.
Maybe I missed it but whats the final color that you've decided on?
