Hey Mark,

Does that radiator have both a transmission and an oil cooler built into it?

Andrew

It has a trans cooler. I’m reusing the 1988 stock Engel oil cooler that was on the truck.

Working on exhaust.

2021 Silverado High Country Muffler. Yes it is big. But I’m old and I want this truck more stock sounding.

Those are Matt’s welds at Sled Alley. I’m not that good anymore or maybe never was. He is super good.

Kind of overkill for a BOS old Blazer. But that is how we roll.

Looking forward to getting it fired up to hear how it sounds.

Resonator

Mark,

Is that a resonator a stock GM or aftermarket piece?

Regards,

Ty

Mark, are you using the GMPP controller to control the pwm fans? I see the AC pressure switch added in.

Yes, it is a E67 controller so it will run the PWM fans and the AC pressure input.

I need to go into the cal via HP Tuners and fix that in the cal.

Covering all the A/C lines crimped fittings with the heat shrink! Nice and pretty!

Remember neatness counts!

I used to tell this to the techs building the Antares, ISS resupply rocket from Wallops Isl. Virginia

Recirculating bottle

Mark,
What is the bottle in front of the A/C pcs. that has TWO lines going to it? I think*** it’s the recirculating bottle/tank. Where do the two lines go?

Thanks,
Jimbo

Overflow tank. One line is the steam line that goes to the engine. The other line goes to the radiator as a vent.

It is also the fill point for the cooling system like a new GM truck.

Thanks Mark.

I never thought of using it for the steam return. Good idea

Stielow 07-15-2022 04:12 PM

x2 that's very OEM looking which is something I would want if/when I ls swap my C10. Congrats on getting it running, Mark!

Well it is all together and almost ready. Waiting on the engine Cal. I changed a few things from the base LS3 Crate cal. Once that is done it is time to get some miles on it before the Barrett Jackson tour in Sept.

I know it is not an over the top build, but it is a fun cruiser. It will be sorted enough I can drive cross country.

I think I like this more than the "over the top" builds

syborg tt 07-31-2022 08:43 AM

This truck brings back a lot of young me memories. I sure did have fun right up till the moment we launched it into a really deep creek/river. Unfortunately we abandoned the truck and walked miles home.

Love the simplicity of this build with all of the modern stuff. Way to many cool ideas that makes me want to revisit some of the stuff on my car.

On a side note I need to road trip to Sled Alley as I would love to see this shop in person.
