How is it that Sled Alley manages to keep the floor and shop so darn clean??? (asking for a friend )
Stoked to see another Camaro coming along Mark, great work.

You're gonna want more power. :morepower Remember the Mule? GREAT looking car and engine package. But Charley was bored to tears as it was by far the slowest car he had lol, hence the twin-turbo project. I love the idea of N/A and the big block look, but I'd want at least another 100 hp over what you've planned, and only do it once. Just a thought from an arm chair QB... :peepwall:

Matt and crew at Sled Alley clean the shop everyday. Always looks great. His attention to detail is very high.

LS427 or LT4

A 600+hp/550lbft LS427 NA stroker seems doable with MPFI for the big block look you're after Mark... or a lightly modded LT4 dressed with a cross ram Z/28 air cleaner on top?!

Do an engine bay like this but not an A/C car but the factory BBC heater core box.

Mark, are you going to be using a Holley system for harness/PCM? Are you using the Lokar LS Classic pieces to dress the engine up? Looks great!

Yes Holley ECM. I will use a few Lokar bits like the valve covers.

Sled Alley is going to build the cowl air cleaner.

The throttle body fits inside the air cleaner and I’m adding a velocity stack

I went to Brian years ago because I knew you trusted him. He built me a very solid LS7. It was nothing crazy like the 900 plus builds you've done, but naturally aspirated at 665 HP, it was pretty wild. I can completely understand why you're going the route you're going and I think it's a great idea. My car was definitely loud, to the point of being a lot of fun, but annoying. One of the best memories I had was sitting waiting in the autocross line, the starter guy says, " How big of an engine is that?" So I told him 427, and he says with a smirk, "You can tell". I definitely laughed at that. It shook the ground even at that power level. My grandpa actually raced a real ZL1 engine bought from a dealership new back in the day in a couple of dirt oval cars and he always talked about how it shook the ground wherever they went. 427 is cool no matter how you slice it.

I decided to try the stock 12 bolt for this build. It had a crack in one of the tubs from all the drag racing. Matt fixed that and got it tuned up.

We have been have a lot issues with noisy Ford 9 inch rear axles. We put a Ford 8.8 in another build and it is quite. I hope the 12 bolt works better also. Time will tell.

These are made out of 304 stainless steel. They make excellent tie down points and they won’t rust. We leave them unpainted. A Sled Alley original product!

Make strapping a car down very quick, safe and easy.

I will definitely give Matt a call when I get to that point, been looking for something clean and secure to tie the car down when trailering. Or to pull it up our steep driveway if it quits at the bottom.

I am curious what filler rod is used to weld stainless to regular steel. I’ve wondered about this for years. :)

308 works for stuff that doesn't matter but 309 is perfect for stainless to carbon steel welding.

My number one question about my cars is “What is the wheel offset”? Over the years we have found it easier for the rear wheels to order the wheels then build the axle to fit. It is easier to modify the axle tube than it is to get new wheels.

I was going to use a retro wheel, but I could not get the brakes to fit. The crew at Forgeline did a lot of work to attempt to get it to work. For me form follows function. I really wanted a retro wheel but I think these look great. If I really want the old dog dish look I’ll swap the brakes to sliders and order new wheels.

RS5, CR3 or JO3C

It's too bad Forgeline's RS5, CR3 or JO3C wouldn't work on Hobb's Camaro... Those would have fit the look and patina perfectly!

This Camaro, just like its predecessors, will be amazing, thanks for sharing the details Mark! The custom XIX center caps are a really cool touch!

Do you go monoblock wheels nowadays for weight?
