The car is looking KINGPIN I like the epoxy look on it now..... A real killer when done im sure

fatlife 11-04-2006 06:55 PM

what the hell is "kingpin" is this some surburbian word you hear your students saying?? :_paranoid

rocketrod 11-04-2006 07:01 PM

Wow! Those engine bay shots are incredible! I love the DSE hinges in black. Nice touch with the radiator support closeout panel and the custom radiator support braces! What color did you shoot the fenderwells and firewall?

I should be out in Sacramento next year, maybe we can do lunch and you could show off your ride. I promise not to drool all over it!

Sorry im must be dumb old and stupid im sure, Just an old word I have used for something that is done quite well..... I have used it for 20 plus years I did not mean to offend the skilled pro's :( Students???? im not a teacher.... im a builder There are 37 magazine articles on me saying I might be getting close.......

fatlife 11-04-2006 07:14 PM

I wasn't offended, just never heard of such a funny word, and I noticed you use it a lot.

Not so funny to some I think I actually picked it up from some friends at gm proving grounds quite a while back

fatlife 11-04-2006 07:23 PM

I like the fact that there is no T.V in this car

TonyG 11-04-2006 08:20 PM

Mother of God! It will be a force to be reckoned with. Now, if you will just paint it anything other than green..lol.. I would say flat black and let it ride!

Absolutely beautiful.

awr68 11-04-2006 08:27 PM

Jonny, it was great seeing the car and spending quite a bit of time with you and the Marquez boys. The car is a work of art and truely does need to be seen in person (a few times) to be fully appreciated...man they do killer work!!

Also, I wanted to mention that Pascual and his team are not only great at what they do, but also the nicest guys you could meet. Even after the SEMA thrash to get the car together and to the show, the dinner partys, and being at the booth all week, at closing time at SEMA yesterday they were still answering peoples questions with smiles on their faces! This is the kind of people it takes to 'make it' in the industry and world! Congrats to all that helped with the project, we all loved it!!

Musclerodz 11-04-2006 08:46 PM

Very clean Jonny. I like the idea of green. It goes with the rest of the car and will stand out in the sea of Camaros.

Mike

You deserve my first post..

Jonny, The car turned out great. I just wanted to tell you guys I had a great time. The bad thing is, I was just thinking of the parts I could have bought for the money I spent. Good thing SEMA is only 1 time a year.. See you at the same place next year.... Good luck. Clayton

Diognes56 11-04-2006 09:58 PM

Looks awsome  .

Also is that a Alston front chassis?
And what size are the turbos?

The Front's are 18x10 with 285/35/18.
The Rear's are 19x12.5 with 345/30/19.
As Jody said it is a WD sub with DSE parts.
The turbos are precision 61mm.

lol, it wasn't dirty at all, the flash on the camera just gives a lot of contrast on the black.

Quadfather, Marquez Design hand built all of that. Wait until Jon posts a list of all the mods. It's nothing short of incredible, especially considering the thrash those guys put in.

jonny51 11-05-2006 04:42 PM

Thanks Quadfather,as Scott said Marquez built it all. That mod is actually the first mod he did over 2 years ago, infact i think Jody's old car had a version of it.The hood latch is from a VW.

InMotionJosh 11-05-2006 05:20 PM

slownova 11-07-2006 08:08 PM

off the top of your head do you know what all it took to fit the 345s? awesome car man.

Stuart Adams 11-07-2006 08:29 PM

You have to modify the inner fender.

MODO Innovations 11-08-2006 03:30 AM

It was mini-tubbed with the standerd 3" dse kit. Then added another inch on the outter side.Next the leafs were ditched for a quadralink, the frame was C-notched to get that ride height.

JohnnyGMachine 11-08-2006 09:47 AM

I can'ty say enough good things about the guys at Marquez Design. It couldn't be any more appropriate to have the word "design" in the title of their company! It's always a pleasure being a small part of a build and working closely with Pascual on a project since he and I think alike..more like Pascual thinks like a designer and can actually make it! I've been designing and styling cars from diecast, to toys, radio control stunt vehicles and been involved and still am with designing real cars and when I see something Pascual has in the works I learn something from him and/or get really inspired. Everytime I hear "Hey John, you gotta see what we're workin' on next..." I know I'm gonna see or hear about something different and something exciting. The guys from Marquez are Muscle Car Visionaries and they will never be the ones following the pack. It was also great seeing the Marquez gang at SEMA. Jonny's car is nothing short of phenominal in every aspect. The car definately carries a theme, it's clean, well thought out, and it captures your attention for more than just a minute. You could spend atleast an hour going over this car looking for all the little "surprises".
Congratulations Jonny and Marquez Design for getting the car to SEMA and building such an awesome machine. Chris and I are probably 2 of your biggest cheerleaders! Thanks for opportunity to be able to be a small part of your success, I look forward to the next time.

Well done,
John

Jonny,
WOW! This camaro, in my mind, sets a new bench mark...its absolutely nice

Do you plan on beating this car up on the road course?

61Bubbletop 11-08-2006 11:29 AM

Yes, this car is full of little details that you really have to study to appreciate...the fact that many don't notice them is a testament to the worksmanship and design....badass car....

HRBS 11-08-2006 12:01 PM

Are those billet marker lights (on front fender) or stock ?

Thanks DJW32!
I plan on taking it out to thunderhill a couple of times. It is more of just a street car.If I were to do multiple racing events I would get a C5 or C6 vette.
