I'm gonna take a guess and say that they, for the same reason as VFN, may have stopped making CF parts for a while. The raw material is really expensive right now because the demand for it is so high. The big new airbus and the big new Boeing are soaking up a lot of it, as is the war.

Garage Dog 65 01-29-2007 06:10 AM

If you check some of the suppliers - they are literally out-of-stock on most CF product lines.

Steve68 02-07-2007 08:50 AM

Thats too bad on the supply drying up, I'd like to have one of the hoods, the look great, especially againts the right color,

Anybody know if Mark gonna make some more?

trapin 02-07-2007 10:55 AM

I think it would look cool on there unpainted. Camaro X with it's white paint would really look killer with one of these hoods. Unpainted, of course.

Steve68 02-07-2007 04:23 PM

Exactly! the CF would look great against my Deep Fathom Green,

ohhhhhh Mmmmmmark!!!!!:unibrow:

mazspeed 02-07-2007 04:59 PM

I want one. Seriously.

XcYZ 02-07-2007 07:07 PM

Details are being sorted out. It's a possability that the hoods might be available.

If and when it's available, you'll hear about it here.

Hey Mark...

Do you still own Red Witch?...That's the red '67 you built way back wasn't it?...I thought Charlie had an exclusive "Mark builds it - I buy it" thing with you, or so it seemed...

Would love to see that car as pictorially (sp?) documented as the Mule was...That '67 gave me a reason to get outta be for so many years!!!...

Mark is handling the freshening of the Red Witch, but Charley still owns the car.

The car is at my new very very very best friends shop...Stenod Performance . Stielow still has Camaro X apart in his garage so the Red Witch is over at Stenods. As the thrash progresses Scott or me will post pics. I'm feeling pretty helpless out here on the left coast. Most of you probably don't know but Stielow has gotten pretty busy at GM and is finally figuring out he it is hard enough jsut getting his car done, let alone my car. Joe and the gang are near and can help out. As long as Mark doesn't start mixing parts from both cars I think we will be OK. How many weeks till Power Tour ? Rupp....You only need to idle into Del Mar...I need to make it from Cleveland to Little Rock.:willy:

kwhizz 03-28-2007 02:33 PM

You got Hood Hinges.......you're almost there..........

Looks great Charley. If anyone can get it done, it's the guys at Stenods. It was great seeing their shop last year at Woodward, great guys and some unbelieveable projects come out of there.:morepower

what size fuel tank does it have?? the one i designed for my car is 25 gallons and it looks to be nearly identical in size?
also the car needs some black anodized twist machine strut bars
looks killer

awr68 03-28-2007 05:55 PM

Look good!!

Any mods (other than the hood) to the car or just a repaint??

bigger motor, custom intake, carbon fiber valve covers, but mostly a complete freshening of the car. Charley drives the wheels off this one.

Joe and the guys at Stenods do fantastic work. I sent them Kooks stainless headers to have the # 1 primary tube moved to clear the steering shaft and as long as they were there, I had them install a set of V-band clamps on the collectors. I'll post some pics of what they did for me next week (they finished with them this morning). Anyways, not to hijack this thread, Red Witch is going to be even more bad ass than it was before.

Charley, how about some pics of the new hood with paint on it. :unibrow:

Speedster 03-29-2007 04:42 AM

Best of Luck getting that thing ready for PT Charley. You don't do anything half-@ssed so no matter what, we know it is going to be a great ride.

What's Mark doing to X??

clill 03-30-2007 11:03 PM

He sold the LS7 that was in it to Scott. He still has to put another one in.

awr68 03-30-2007 11:23 PM

Another LS7? Or does he have something new in the works? Is he doing One LAp this year?

Any progress on your car this week?

clill 03-31-2007 06:20 AM

Yes another LS7. Different cam and pistons I think. He wanted to do One Lap but I think he is too busy at work. He should have the car on Power Tour though.

It had a 24 gallon cell. Ricks has made a new tank that should be the same size.
As fpr progress...We have headers and engine on site.

Autokraft 03-31-2007 06:37 AM

That looks cool Charley:thumbsup:

awr68 03-31-2007 09:22 AM

Looks good Charlie! What headers are you using?

Man-will Mark ever make it back to One Lap?

olds87 03-31-2007 09:27 AM

What kind of HP and Torq you get out of the rear wheels?

Over all, nice engine.

Stainless headers built by Wheel2Wheel. I'm out of town but maybe Scott has pics of them.
