I still want to add boost, but my plan at this point will be to get the car finished first. Roger, it will be similar to Steve's.

The headers are 1.75" and they're uncoated. I'm evaluating what I want to do. Run them as is, cut the primaries and have a local fabricator create stepped headers by welding 1.875" primaries tubes 6" past the flange, or perhaps try a different header all together. We're very fortunate to have Art Morrison involved with Lateral-g as they are willing to bend over backwards for their customers.

The ATS headers are very nice but are cost prohibitive to my project.

I got my Rockland Standard T56 today and got it in the car. I'll be measuring for a driveshaft tomorrow. Feels good to make some progress on the car. :)

Damn.....That LS7 looks snug as a bug in a rug! Like it was there all along!

Datsbad 02-12-2007 08:57 PM

Scott, Those headers are 1.75 right? They look big in the pics.
What is the plan for having this car done? PT this year ? I would love to see it . Looks good

XcYZ 02-12-2007 09:02 PM

Thanks Jason. :)

Yep, they are 1.75" primaries. They are from Art Morrison for their (and your) new subframe. They're really nice.

I've been talking to Kooks about a set of conversion headers. As you know, the exhaust ports on the LS7 are different from the standard LS port and I'd like a bigger primary. Although I wouldn't be scared to run the Art Morrison headers I have now.

Mizfit 02-12-2007 09:06 PM

looks great scott. Can't wait to see that thing on the road:thumbsup:

we are using the Dart heads on this car and I would like the bigger primary also . Let me know how you make out with Kooks. I have a few things working also , I will let you know how I make out also . Thanks

Scott, would it not be easier to install a supercharger on that engine, then go through all the work of those turbos? How much power do you really need anyways? It would make that engine compartment a lot cleaner.

I have a Saleen 2001 281SC. You can't keep the car on the road at high rmp's and low speeds. haha. I have had it at 166 mph top speed. Ran out of 5th gear. How fast do you need to go?

I'm just trying to help you in the thought process of getting that car finished and on the road and on its way to completion. Everytime I see pics of that car it has new rims, headers, engine, you name it, you have changed it.

Next, you will be putting in a LS10 which has not even come out yet. I know you still want to paint the car too. Your going to be like me, thirty years later you have got it right. Plus I stuck to one engine and the same interior. lol.

Have to agree with roger.
I just wanna get my car done as well. only 93 days till year one roger....lol and we still gotta install new motor make some headers work and repaint some stuff lol its a never ending battle. you see something that you think looks cool and you want it done on your car.
(didnt mean to highjack the thread) lol
Car looks sweet steve. When are you going to try to have it done by? power tour???

trapin 02-13-2007 06:45 PM

I guess the LSX bug is going to bite us all eventually. It even got a fence sitter like me to climb down. :D

Awesome news Scott. You're car just got that much cooler.

Oh, and by the way..........Woodward, perhaps? :unibrow:

XcYZ 02-13-2007 06:48 PM

I'm planning on Woodward again. :) But getting the car there would be pretty tight as it's going to go to paint first.

True, but there's a very, very good possibilty that the car will have a deadline of being finished by the last week of October. ;)

clill 02-14-2007 08:03 AM

My vote is blow off paint for now and make it ready for Power Tour. October deadline sounds like SEMA. You can pull it apart after Power Tour and paint it then. You want all the bugs worked out before paint....

I have no goals or timelines for my car. I can talk all I want. I just have to remember to hide under the stairs whenever it comes time to back it up.

This :lateral: getting better and better every day!!!!!!

Have Scott bought the drysump tank yet? Are you going aftermarket or stock C6 vette tank ?

96z28ss 02-15-2007 03:40 PM

Scott you still have the Wayne Due frame correct?

So the headers fit both the Art Morrison frame and Wayne due's?

XcYZ 02-18-2007 12:43 PM

Yep, I have the Wayne Due subframe. The headers fit really good, the drop is perfect.

Nate Hanson 02-18-2007 07:56 PM

Scott--

Off topic, but I was wondering if i could get together with you to discuss a t56 swap into my s10?

XcYZ 02-18-2007 08:03 PM

Sure thing, Nate. Shoot me an e-mail at [email protected]

Oh, the jealousy.... Even with all your indecision, you're still gonna beat me to getting the car on the road.
