I Have A 71 Ventura With A Nova Front Clip, Anyways, I Really Like The Look Of The 69 Camaro Taillights And The Rear Bumper More Than The Ventura Taillights. I'm Kinda Anxious To See What Is Going To Be Done With All That Extra Space Under The Bumper, This Is Going To Be One Rad Nova, Nice Work.

I wanna know what Troy treats the metal with to keep it looking so good.

Jarrod steel wools it every day as his penance for trying to be a TV star....
 |
Wow...looking good!
Love the Camaro taillights & bumper... |
"Jarrod steel wools it every day as his penance for trying to be a TV star...."
That's funny  |
Looks Awesome, keep the updates and pics coming. BTW where did the taillights come from, Marquez?
|
WOW!!!
Good work.  |
Looking Rad! I couldnt help it!
It is looking really Cool, cant wait for the next update!
Has Bob showed you any paint schemes yet? |
Update!
Stopped by the shop quickly to see what was up. As you guys saw the bumper and taillights are in. The area below the bumper has been finished up and looks sinister. The gas tank has also been installed. This required a little bit of work since we didn't want the tank to hang low. You really wont be able to see the tank when you look at the car from the rear. Rocker panels have been lengthened and are completed. Also the steering column is installed. After next week it will be onto the front end of things.
Haven't discussed paint at all. I think the tough part is going to be what style of rims we go with. Any ideas on that?? -derek |
Any news or updates?

Not sure about the spoiler yet, but the reversed Camaro tail lights are cool. As always Troy's work looks better unfinished than most do with paint on them

Man the cars at rad rides keep getting better!!

Spoiler
I thought the same thing as did my dad. The spoiler is so low profile that once its in paint you'll hardly notice it. It really does complete the rear end. Before it was on there the trunk lid was just too much metal. The spoiler breaks it up very nicely.

I can't really see what's going on with the lower valence, bumper looks great.

Hard to tell but the lower area under the bumper looks like its been smoothed to the body lines with a recess for the license plate. I see two big openings either side of the license plate area too! Lookin good!! |
Another pic

Glad everyone so far is liking it. The lower area has been smoothed, cut, grinded...the whole bit. If you look at the rear directly on, you'll see that everything flows into eachother. Notice the circle drawn on the body between the lights for the fuel. The bumper is one of my fav. parts of the rear of the car. Jared did a great job on smoothing the sides into the car.
Heres another one. :willy: Enjoy! -derek |
All those Camaro parts and inspirations.....
Would it not be simpler to build a Camaro period? Nice work tough. Lead. |
I agree I love troys work but if you want a camaro build one! the nova has such a great looking assend as it is, But can enjoy custom cars as much if not more than the rest ecs if you have seen mine, But i 'll wait and pass judgement when its done becasue Troys always seems to amaze!

Thanks for that last picture Derek, it's much clearer to see all the work Troy and Jared did. |
Just before this gets out of hand....
I said i like the work! And i love Nova's too, my very first car was a 68 Chevy 2 at 15 and change and i sold my 70 ss last year when i started the Camaro. I also had a 79 Hatchback a few years ago as a DD. Since Troy can surely build Bad Ass cars i just think he could have tought of something other than a Camaroed Nova, or a recreation of Strope's design. I LIKE IT STILL!!!!:D and i subscribed to this thread because i want to see it come thru. I like diversity and even tough i'm building a Camaro, i know, and will admit, everyone has one so its nothing particular, but as everyone should be doing, i build it because i dig it! No offense intended AT ALL, now back to your regular program.... Lead  Oh and i love the car being so clean to begin with. |
I saw the car when I was on power tour we stopped by troy's- at first glance all I saw was a great looking car -I don't think 9out of 10 people will make the connection to the camaro -they will just see a great looking hot rod and wish it was in their garage like me.

There is www.steetrodding.com, not as well organised as this or www.trifive.com site's, but if your into street rods it is still pretty neat. Also there is www.hotrodhotline.com and www.americanrodsandrides.com . hot rod hotline has forums and alot other interesting stories and features. American rods and rides is more about cars and parts and source's but still good info to have. hope this helps. have a great day  Larry |

Spoiler
HAVE YOU SEEN THE 1970 NOVA ON THE COVER OF THIS MONTH'S SUPER CHEVY ???
THEY USED ALL CAMARO PARTS ON THIS BUILD. THE CAMARO REAR DECK SPOILER LOOKS GOOD ON IT. BUT THE PAINT JOB, I DONT LIKE THE STRIP ON THE HOOD. IT JUST LOOKS OUT OF PLACE. BUT IT'S A COOL CONCEPT. IT HAS A 302 Z-28 MOTOR WITH THE CROSS RAM INDUCTION, HOUNDS TOOTH INTERIOR, CAMARO CENTER CONSOL WITH 4 SPEED & TACH, THE HOOD LOOKS LIKE A 1969 CAMARO COWL INDUCTION. BUT YOUR DAD'S NOVA LOOKS BETTER THEN THE CAR IN THE MAG & IT'S ONLY IN RAW METAL. Quote:
