Eric,
Congrats on you and Ironworks getting some ink. I will grab that issue asap. The last issue which was my first I bought of this mag was pretty good. Hopefully this mag sticks around for awhile. Dave |
Radiator Support
These pics are of the radiator support. Like the inner fenderwells, the support is all scratch-built.
I wanted to keep the basic shape of the original support, but I wanted Ironworks to put the radiator inside the top lip. As you can see, the aluminum radiator is fairly thick, so the top of the support had to be made just as thick. http://i338.photobucket.com/albums/n...a/P1010058.jpg Since the new radiator is wider (side-to-side) than a stock radiator, the "hump" on top of the support was fabricated wider as well. http://i338.photobucket.com/albums/n...a/P1010061.jpg This shot shows the top of the support intersecting the fenderwell after the initial fitting of the core support in the car (no headlight buckets yet). http://i338.photobucket.com/albums/n...a/P1010062.jpg --Eric |

More Radiator Support Stuff......
The guys at Ironworks applied their magic and formed the ends of the support to match the slope of the inner fenderwells:

Check out how they contoured the sheetmetal. I wish I could do work like that...... Its just not fair! --Eric |
