You continue to out-do yourself and all others with your builds Mark. Please keep building cars I love every one of your builds. :hail:

Ryan just about summed it up best here!

I really dJA and the way the LS9 works in that car. So I'm doing a bigger displacement LS9 a LS9.2. Brian Thomson is building me a 427 CID LS9  http://thomsonautomotive.com/home

Thomson Automotive is a great source for LSx engines. My short block should be together in a few weeks.
Our goal is 800 HP and 800 ft*lb of torque

Mark,
Why not ditch the roots blower and use turbos? Wouldn't the turbos also save you some weight? Is ALL that torque down low in the RPM range absolutely necessary?

I'll sum it up in one word for you....Heat.

I thought about turbos but the blower has the following advantages

1 The GM blower drive is fully sorted out and validated
2 Less Heat
3 No turbo lag - better throttle response
4 Less fabrication - better packaging
5 The blower has intercooler built in

I've done turbo cars and I like the blower cars better so far.

The blower weights about 65 lbs and rest of the parts needed weight 20 lbs. So for around 85 lbs I'll add a bunch of power.

My plan is to have the car ready for Father's Day at Motorstate Challange. I'm not doing Autoramma due to my engine swap.

I've had the last week off for vacation and I've be able to modify the DSE sub-frame to clear the A/C comp. The GM A/C compressor would not fit so I mounted a Vintage Air unit. Also, to clear the A/C comp I need to swap to a 2002 F-car engine mount.

Last night I finished angeling the throttle body. My aluminum welding is OK but Joe's at Stenodes is great. So I'll take it to Joe tomorrow to weld it up.

Speaking of aluminum welding. Joe is also mounting my new Griffin rad, VA A/C condensor and the aftercooler. The Griffin rad is BIG. It it about 20 % bigger than the one I used in JA. JA never over-heated but we will be making more heat than JA.

Just make sure you have the seat belts securely fastened!! Cool car.

Awsome car and very nice work. The one thing that gets me is how many pepole have an extra DSE sub frame to use when working on the car??? One looks to be under the car in the pictures of body work and then one for engine mock up. Very cool!!!! :hail: :hail: :hail:

Gears

Hi Mark, I was wondering what is the rear gear going to be & what is the set up in the T-56 trans? Joe & Paul are doing a great job on the car, can't wait to see paint on it.

Do you think that the 427 will overextend the efficiency of the LS9 intercooler? Do you know how high the JA IAT's got during the Optima event?
