Question. How is fuel pressure controlled on these LSA crate motors?
|
The GM designed system has a Pressure Module which is continuously monitoring the pressure in the fuel line and sends enough Voltage to the pump to keep the pressure where it needs to be........Because I didn't use the6L90E transmission......we couldn't use the ZL1 system.........So.....Carl at Vaporworx developed a stand alone system that has a pressure monitor that is installed into the fuel line just outside the tank........the module supplied basically reads the fuel pressure just as the GM system and varies the Voltage to the ZL1 pump just as the stock GM designed system.......So.....There is not a return line..........the Pump only runs as hard as the demand put upon the engine

So.....I was programming the Dakota Digital controllers today with the correct senders and everytime I would turn the key on to start the programming....The fuel pump would kick on for a couple of seconds.......I didn't have any fuel in the tank and it was running dry......so....I didn't like that so I went and got some Gas for the tank........and as the pump would go on for those two seconds I smelled some gas.....looked around and found a fitting that wasn't tightened all the way.........Fixed it and thought to myself......Hummm!!!......actually this old beater should actually start ........

I always pull the fuel pump fuse when doing that so it's not just pumping start fuel in the engine....

That's what a smart person would do.......LOL |
I was doing an 8 stack for a buddy on his BBC.... had him running the "key"... and each time he turned it to "on" (not start) it shot a load of start fuel...
We're in his garage.... We had all the ignition hooked up... MSD - coil - etc.... all of a sudden it fired thru the exhaust so hard my ears are still ringing and that was 3 years ago. OMG that thing lit off! It had the cleanest exhaust pipes EVER cause it blew black crap out the pipes so hard it impregnated the cement floor... After that I learned to pull the fuse AND disconnect the coil wire. HUH?? What'd ya say? I can't hear you... |
We're missing a video. ;)
