You said the wiper motor was moved on the 73? Do you have pics of this?

May want to do that on my 73 Camaro.

Also, may be interested in buying the 73. I've wanted one for a while now.

I'll look for the pics. We did the same mod to my 69 Camaro in this thread as well. It was relocated inside the drivers side fender on the firewall.

The TA is no longer for sale.

Hey Jay, i drove my 2nd gen from CA to texas with the goodguys last week and met your wife but not you (i was with Bryan). I was asking her about having to sell/not sell it, i'm glad you were able to keep them both. Can you imagine trying to replace them in a couple of years if you did have to sell?

My headers wore thru while i was there in Ft Worth and if effed my car up bad (they were only 1 3/4 off the ground) and put me in a full rich mode on my LS, mileage went from 24 at 90 to 16 at 80/85. Headers and a few other things are on my list.

Was hopin to meet you and see the 69, but maybe next time....

Mike

Mike, sorry I missed the opportunity to meet you. Amy mentioned you stopped bye with Bryan. No kidding! I CAN'T imagine trying to replace them. Too bad you were not there Friday when I got pulled off the auto-x by Trent on the 4-wheeler. I think I heard the announcer say it was my fastest time of the day. Funny guy. The alternator housing gave up. I need to post a pic. I was able to get a replacement but it did not have enough amps to keep the electrical system charged. It spent Saturday on the charger at the event.

Sorry to hear about the headers. That sucks. You did not have much clearance for these Texas roads built for pickup trucks.

I was on the autocross friday, and i remember Bryan sayin that you had to go to "Autozone?" to replace it. I wanted to say, "drove 2400 miles, autocrossed it, then drove 1600 home". Well I did, but she limped home. I hope to do the trip again next year....I had to leave the autocross early cause the Goodguys wanted to get a cover shot of all of us "tour" people on the Gazette, they did it on the banks of the speedway, it was pretty cool.

Mike, I can't believe I missed you both days. Glad you made it back home tho. I'm still waiting on the new alternator.

What have you decided to go with for the headers?

glassman 10-18-2014 04:34 PM

Unfortunatly Hooker middies. I am not happy AT ALL with Hooker, and this problem has led to bigger issues. The reason i am stuck using the Hooker's is when i bought the LS kit, it moved the engine over 1/2". Plus Keith at Custom Works is stepping up for Hooker and kickin me down a set. Hooker sent me a better fitting set, but just painted and i need coated.....I did make the show saturday, thats when i hung with Bryan and met Amy....took off on Sun. Made it to Kingsman AZ even with the two hour tow....

I finally found the pics.

Relocated the DSE wiper motor to the firewall under the driver side front fender.

A hole was cut into the shell to gain access to the wiper arms, brackets and wiper motor.

Its a little hard to see but the wiper arm has been extended across the cowl to reach the wiper motor.

Smoothed firewall after relocated wiper motor. You can see it covered up for paint work.
