Hey ya'll,

I got some more updates today. The wiring is pretty much done, minus the battery cables which should be finished next week. About ready to start this car up for the first time and hear it purr. I'll be sure to get a video for you guys. Should be awesome.

Finished installing the Alpine sound and navigation system. It has some serious components with 3 amps producing about 3000W all together.

Put the doors back on today. Was happy to see everything lined up perfectly and didn't require any adjustments. Put the trunk on as well while I'm finishing up the custom spoiler.

What are the door harness boots from?

EBmotorsports 03-15-2015 06:48 PM

They came from nu-relics as part of the kit

Hey yall,

Just finished up all of the wiring and testing it all. Very cool how it's working off RFID when you approach the car and unlocks it. The dome light gradually comes on as you open and close the doors. The headlights automatically turn no and off depending if it's dark outside. You would think you're driving a brand new BMW with all the electronic features in this car!

I also just finished up the windshield and side glass in the car. The windshield and rear glass is over-sized and I turned it into a flush mount, just like you would find on a new car.

I put dynamat and dynaliner all throughout the interior of the car, even inside the doors. When you knock on the steel, it sounds very solid. I know this thing is going to drive and be quiet just like a new car. OK maybe I'm just kidding. We all know that GM LSX454 and 3" Borla exhaust is going to light up when you get on the gas!

I also got the headliner installed. Was happy that went very smooth with no issues.

Created a sub enclosure for the two 10" Alpine subs. Got a little bit creative and put the Pontiac logo as the bass reflex port. I'll put a red LED back there so it glows :)

One last little touch is that I put a steel mesh behind the bass reflex port on the sub enclosure as well as the inlets on the quarter panels, which cool the rear brakes.

I'll be putting the fenders on very soon and starting on the upholstery as well.

Here are some pictures.

When you said you put dynamat INSIDE the door --- I take it you mean on the door skin....

Take it off while you still can. I did this once -- big mistake. When the sun hits that metal it gets hot as hell -- and then the dynamat would let go - drop onto the glass if it was down... and well --- yeah -- that was a big mistake.

There is none on the door skin, I do intend on putting it on the inside of the door behind the door panel, but now you have me worried about what I put on the roof of the car. If it lets go it will push down the headliner. Have you ever had it turn loose from the roof, or was I just dumb for putting it there to begin with. Please tell me it's gonna stay, even if you don't believe it, haha.

I've never put it on the roof skin.... Maybe someone else has and will chime in.

Been lurking and watching this build .... very nice!

Could you expand on the over sized glass? Was it a special order and how did you flush it?

Anyway, very nice build! :trophy-1302:

I just used dynaliner on my roof skin. Didn't want to chance it. I wouldn't worry about it much as long as you made sure you laid it nice and clean. As far as the doors go i used strips of dynamat. I placed them anywhere that there was dip if that makes sense. I then dynalined my panels. I didn't want to lay a sheet on my doors in case i need to access my window.

I used dynamat as a vibration reducer and dynaliner as a heat barier. Look at my thread and you will see what i did to my panels.
