I have had a few people ask about what we did for Curtis's engine
here are the details and engine porn : We started with a low mileage 08' L76 6.0L Gen IV aluminum block, refreshed with new Clevite bearings, rings, etc -#823 GM rectangle port cylinder heads, resurfaced (just clean up) - installed PRC .650" dual valve spring kit w/ titanium retainers - Comp Cams trunion upgrade kit installed in GM rocker arms - Comp Cam grind 226/234 dur. 598/601 lift 113+2 LSA - TSP 7.400" .080 wall pushrod set - GM LS2 HD timing chain and gear set - GM LS7 lifter set w/ LS2/3/7 lifter trays - GM MLS .054" head gaskets - ARP head bolt set - GM new LS2 timing cover/ sensor kit - LS2/3 valley cover - GM Corvette harmonic balancer - ARP crank balancer bolt - Melling hp oil pump - GM LS2/3 Corvette oil pan kit - GM LS3 intake manifold assembly, with fuel rails, 42# injectors - LS2 "Silverblade" 90mm dbw throttle body - powder coated black LS3 valve cover set w/ stainless fasteners - GM LS3/7 coil packs w/ factory brackets, stainless fasteners - AC Delco spark plug wire set and iridium spark plugs - -4AN steam ports - all new sensors (ie crank, cam, map, maf LS3/7, knock) with this setup and tune, we are estimating approx 530-550hp/ 520 tq @ crank (450rwhp/ 420rwtq) He wanted a great n/a engine that didn't "break the bank" have plenty of power that could be daily driven running the a/c or head out for track events, without the drive-ability issues associated a "overbuilt" engine for mainly street use Jeff |
Now you're cookn with fire!! :hello:
|
That's a very simple, effective, and durable build. You're going to love it Curtis! Glad to see everything coming along nicely.
