Hey, what bracket are you running on the A/C comp? Is it available separate from whatever front drive that is?

Hey Eric,

Well, not quite  summer activities for the kids have interrupted progress. My daughter's birthday is in June so we had a party I had to get ready for and we just got back from a week at Disney. I have more done than pictures posted. I had started putting the fuel tank together when we had to stop for June. We should be getting back on it when we get back from Columbus.

The accessory drive is from Wegner Automotive. I believe Casey will sell the brackets individually. Give him a call at 920-394-3558.

We are back from Columbus and back at it. My daughters have started cheerleading practice, so Dad gets to hit the garage on cheer nights! The fuel cell is now starting to come together. Thanks to help from Carl C and his Vaporworx technology I think we will have a solid fuel system. The tank material is 16ga 304SS. I modeled it in solidworks and had the material sheared and broke. Now I am doing my best to warp the h..l out of it trying to weld it together. Here is where I am so far.

Good!

There! That covered the good and the bad. :D

Nice work! And your clamping etc is what many people forget to do or don't know to do... so kudos for you!

More pics to come soon. We had to figure out the routing of the fuel filler and decide on venting. I will be making sparks tonight. Hopefully I will have the tank mounted in the truck next week. Fingers crossed. Thanks for checking in. Did you talk to Wegner about the A/C bracket?

I did, and thanks for the tip. But that was before this 383 gen 1 small block came into the plan. Now I need a full front drive for it, with the ac bracket too.

As promised!

Not much to say other than it is progress. Enjoy!

Whatcha think?

Really nice work on the tank Chad. That is great progress.

If I had the skill I would love to make my own tank. But I don't have the talent or TIG equipment. I think it's really cool that you make so many of your own parts.
