2013 10-03 2nd Chance - Livin Loud with Kicker
Livin Loud with Kicker
www.2ndchancecamaro.com

Good Afternoon,

Moving to the Sound System I wanted to do something simple for this version of the car. I asked Victor Fulton if he would do a
rendering of the idea or Vision as Bob said that I had for the package tray. My goal was to have something similar to the 5th
generation Camaro with a 3rd brake light. I think Victor nailed it.

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...524858c-me.jpg

Right now we are looking at using a iTouch for the source and possible using the Kicker PX i50.2 Controller to power the speakers.

http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...01f4941-me.jpg

http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...f36a215-me.jpg

I picked up a set of Kicker 6" Round 3 way speakers for the front kick panels and a set of 6 x 9's for the rear. Nothing to fancy
because version 2 of the interior is going to raise the bar.

http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...8cf46b8-me.jpg

http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...458978e-me.jpg

We didn't want to reinvent the wheel so I purchase a set of fiberglass kick panels from a gentleman on
www.pro-touring.com. These are very nice and Kenny tells me that they fit perfectly.

http://www.pro-touring.com/threads/7...-Panels-FS-(AR)

http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...c1d1d36-me.jpg

http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...01a739d-me.jpg

In order to do the least amount of fabrication work we ordered up a Marquez fiberglass package tray from the guys at www.camarocentral.com
this will greatly reduce the amount of fabrication time at the interior shop. However, they will still have to build the center section for the 3rd brake light.

http://www.garagescene.net/upload/20...2-de8658e0.jpg

The other option for the source would be from Secret Audio. This being 4 channels vs the 2 channels that the Kicker version offers

2013 10-04 2nd Chance - Custom Works Carbon Fiber Valve Covers
Custom Works Carbon Fiber Valve Covers
www.2ndchancecamaro.com

Good Afternoon,

The real Bob John suggested that I put the Carbon Fiber Valve covers on the car now. However I am certain that he is going to say
something about me covering them up with the factory coils. We are hoping to get the billet coil covers but it's not looking good.
Maybe I will order up the red MSD Coils to keep the red theme going.

I love this build Marty I have a 74 that I a going to start on here pretty soon and this is major motivation to get started on mine!

Thank you very much I really appreciate the kind words. I have spent a lot of time planning out this build and over the next 4 years it will keep evolving into a pretty cool car.

As for the wire Harness it is a American Auto Wire Factory Harness. I have used there stuff on all 3 of my projects with Kenny and he has only said good things about them.

Rick D 10-06-2013 08:39 AM

Coming along nicely Marty!! Which wire kit did you get? Part number? I just looked under my dash for the first time the other day :confused18: :bang:

Man this budget thing is hard to keep in line!!!

Budget - Smudget just build the car you want and it doesn't matter how long it takes. As for the harness I will dig up the partners on Monday as I have them at work. It was there full factory fit kit for a 70 with Aftermarket guages.

Radlark 10-06-2013 10:42 AM

Thanks Marty!

Yeah but I still plan to drive it next summer, so I need to keep it in line

Next is my engine decision :whistling: but I think I will run the SBC for a while :bang:

DOOM 10-06-2013 05:11 PM

2013 10-08 2nd Chance - Billet Speciality Wheels
Billet Speciality Wheels
www.2ndchancecamaro.com

Good Afternoon,

Slight change in the direction of the build. Kenny didn't like the wheel with the new paint so off came the wheels and a new
set was quickly shipped from the Guys at Billet Specialties. Of course Carter did a couple quick rendering with the new
wheels to give us a quick visual of how the car would look.

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...707ec37-me.jpg

Just trying to make sure I keep the pictures Cell Phone quality I used my iphone 4 to snap this picture before I shipped them to Kenny.

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...973838f-me.jpg

and yes Kenny mounted them the day they got there.

Marty, i forgot to ask you, did you upgrade your chassis?

If so, who'd you use and why?

If not, what steering and front suspenders did u use? , thanx, mike

Thenovaguy 10-08-2013 05:52 PM

Any plans for the other wheel and tire setup? Just wondering if they will be up for sale...

The car still has the stock subframe under the car with all of Ride-Techs parts and an Afco 14 to 1 Steering box.

I've ordered up a chassis from Scott Mock which I will build up including another Edelbrock LS motor with a 4l60E Twist Machines Paddle shift set. My goal with that chassis and motor is to Duplicate what Al & his son's are doing with the G5R Camaro. I have always wanted to go all out on a chassis and this will be my chance. It's much cheaper then building another car.

Yep, jumped up to a Taller tire in the rear then the 26" tire. We did however keep the 24.5" tall fronts.

Love the new wheels Marty. By the way, this is how things begin to snowball out of control and into much bigger things....a wheel swap here, chassis swap there. Before you know it, your in the same boat as alot of us.
