I hope that green is just for mock up purposes.
Orange would look way better on the finished car... Matt |
This has to be a feature car for sure. I love it!

Personally I have my doubts he's capable of sanding between the lines... I've seen his comic book.
 Nice driving suit Ron! Let me know which track days you're attending so I can help tech you in.... (Or maybe tech you OUT!)... I'm certain I've seen faulty workmanship/incompletes/voids... |
Lookin Good Ron!

Ron love your racing suit. Your going to be the talk of the town. No matter where you go lol ;)

I saw that pic years ago and thought it fit. I kind of have a photographic memory. Unfortunately it's haunted by crap like this. Ohh yeah... Great car Ron! Can't wait to see this one finished! :hail:  |

Ok, so no pics but here's an update. Pretty much got to the end of my list @ JCG. Cris has alot of projects in the shop and SEMA will be here before we can blink so it was time to move the car outta there. Seems like I do everything 3x and I'm still stuck in this mode but hopefully not for long. Also having painted or powdercoated parts drives some compromise. There was still some fab to be done and Mr. Fab53 offered to step in so off to his shop the car went. Brett squared the car every which way possible and rewelded the sub. Should be undercoat touched up by end of week. Brett is also fab'ing my subframe downbars to connect to my sub and double as a swaybar mount. This will save the p-coat. Brett's also adding a removable 5th diagonal link to my rollbar for added saftey. In other news, with the car at ride height the rear wheels rubbed. I think this was caused more by my rear end width than the wheels ordered wrong (5.5" BS). I want it to sit right, so I took my rear over to Speedway for some mods. Also, had an offer to buy my wheels so I sold them and spoke to Frank. He gave me a smokin deal on some GW3s which get me to 19 in the rear. Unfortunately there is no good 100 TW option in 335/19 so I went w NT05s for now (da*n!); only other option is 30TW and I may go there after the Nittos get ground down. Wheels and tires should be in by end of next week and rear will be at the p-coater by then also. We also need to do some rear shock relo to eliminate bind (not sure how that happened?) and trunk relief mods for exhaust clearance. This should be done by next week as well. Once all this is done we start to put the car back together. The only thing left to do before wiring really is finish the oiling routing and motor breathing, do the final connection for fuel, brakes and clutch. Hoping to get all this done in the next 30 days. Here's a fun milestone. I actually 'sat' in my car for the first time ever: http://i885.photobucket.com/albums/a...-25-00_970.jpg Pics and details soon guys... |
I used to sit in mine and drink beer before it ran. I'd day dream about mowing down all my friends. Sometimes dreams come true.

Good to hear the progress continues. Those cobra seats are the business. I think we all sit in our car at one point or another and day dream. for me I just hope I still fit in the seats by the time is done.

Good stuff Ron, good old 1 step forward, 3 steps backwards.
|
Hey Ron- sounds like progress to me, got have a plan before you can get her done  So whats the concensus on the ls7 breathing/pcv system? Going with breathers or tanks or maybe both?

Ron -- so what are the 4th set of wheels gonna be? :_paranoid :D |
I hope my new wheels don't rub! Ron/Todd, that's the first thing I'm going to do when I get my car back in the garage, mount the drivers seat, grab a brewhaha and park my azzzzz in it. I need a fix! Ron, that is one cool ride you've got there, can't wait to see it in person one day.
|
Great to hear things moving along Ron. 30 days lol - I can only hope you are right on that one and no hickups. No doubt with Brett on the job he'll knock it out for sure where the fab is concerned. Keep us posted!

Glad to see an update Ron. You sure are building one bad azz car :hail: I hope you bring back out to the Midwest some day so I can see in person! And the first beers on me

Good to see things still moving forward. Progress is progress, thats what I keep telling myself. We'll get there sooner or later. It would just be great if it was this year, right!
Keep the updates coming. Can't wait to see the wheels. |
You have issues on whole different level bro...
Progress eludes us all once in awhile....helps if it isn't self imposed though  (says the guy that took 18mo for an engine build that didn't fit :willy: ) |

Congratulations the car is amazing. What is Speedway doing to your rear housing? Did you choose a wheel yet? I never saw your final intake choice in the thread. Maybe I missed it. |

Nice to see the update and read about your progress Ron. Can't wait to see you driving it. A top-notch build.
|
It sounds like you'll be a lot happier with the changes your making. Little thing like tire rub would drive you crazy later on if you didn't fix them . Good plan!
