Here is a nice side shot. It has about 3/16” gap which is hard to see in the picture. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...9a32f5c2af.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Final Intake Tube Mock Up (( 02-21-23 ))
Once again I played with the intake tube so I can get the bracket made to support the intake tube.
http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...062e346-me.jpg I used the blue tape to reference where the tubes need to be once the clamps are tight. What you can't see is how far I had to push everything into the couplers. http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...6ea25d4-me.jpg You can see where I plan to install the bracket from the fan shroud to the intake tube. http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...f172b40-me.jpg http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...9efb8c1-me.jpg http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...6b146dd-me.jpg More ARP Hardware. http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...f8e3286-me.jpg Apparently I forgot to tighten the exhaust clamps when Dr EFI Andrew was setting up the tune on the car. Good News they are now tight and at the proper angle so they are above the frame rail. http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...a3fb3c9-me.jpg Fuel Level Wiring complete http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...e6e455c-me.jpg http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...0c37aee-me.jpg How could I have used this many tools http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...b5e25cb-me.jpg |
2nd Chance Screaming Chicken DBW Pedal Bracket (( 02-25-23 ))
I ordered this bracket a long long time ago and somehow misplaced it. When I ordered I told Dave at Screaming Chicken
that the best way to find it is to order another one. Well, I was correct as the day I went out to the garage to install the bracket I found the first one I ordered. http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...8636261-me.jpg Step One - Remove the DBW Assembly http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...d581ebb-me.jpg http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...f929129-me.jpg Step Two - Remove the factory pedal. http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...38bfe8f-me.jpg http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...be2525e-me.jpg Step Three - Cut out this Template http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...f61ccfd-me.jpg Step Four - Place the Template and Drill a hole in the target. http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...de388a3-me.jpg http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...e7b5abe-me.jpg Step Five -- Remove my bad ass Billet Pedal http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...cef5e16-me.jpg Pictures for reference http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...a43aa99-me.jpg Step Six -- Install Pedal on the new bracket from the guys at Screaming Chicken. http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...ae540d0-me.jpg One of the features I like with this bracket is it allows me to move the pedal over roughly 1/4" which I think is what I need to miss the carpet on the trans tunnel. http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...0278e32-me.jpg http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...985c900-me.jpg Eventually I did move it over to the other side and it clears the carpet http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...95fc5c3-me.jpg One thing that I will have to do is replace the nut that I am using as a spacer. If you are using a factory pedal you won't have this issue. http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...e6ce358-me.jpg |
Great progress. I am glad you posted info about your air filter as I’ve been wanting to ask questions about it for months. So THANK YOU. It looks like it will fit my junk perfectly.
Thanks again, Jim |
Marty,
Good job on the pedal! Andrew |
I know I'm the minority here but every time I see an K&N air filter I think back to this story my buddy told me last year - how he'll never use a K&N air filter again.
He had 2 different vehicles with problems resulting purely from those filters. "It's the oil on them. It ruined the MAF sensors. 01 Silverado and 18 Diesel Cruze. 65,000 miles and 82,000 respectively and poof! Sensors went bad." FWIW I guess. |

For the Love of Carbon I love my little Cut Off Wheel (( 02-28-22 ))
Since I am using the Afco LS Radiator setup which is larger then the stock radiator I need to modify this beautiful Anvil Carbon
Fiber Radiator Cover. Out comes my trust Dremel with the tiny cut off wheel. http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...9606b5f-me.jpg In the next two pictures you can see how much needs to be removed. http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...5ed4e6f-me.jpg http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...60b61c8-me.jpg All Better !! http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...b367d1f-me.jpg http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...c144d2b-me.jpg http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...14c1ea3-me.jpg I will need to install Nutserts since this piece uses the out most holes. http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...14452eb-me.jpg http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...ad5ca02-me.jpg I have had the closeout panels since the first build and I contacted Anvil to see if they have one that matches the radiator cover. They do have one that matches and they are taking very good care of me and sending me one that matches perfectly. http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...49a78e6-me.jpg |
