Dave, have you finalized the start up logistics?

One glove or two, or just throw caution aside and turn the key barehanded?

How about close your eyes and pray? I will be letting the experts handle this! The last thing I need is a motor issue to set me back! :willy:

The engine has never been suspect, came from an excellent source and has been proven to put out PLENTY of power- thanks Jody....

We do plan on toning it down for the initial shakedown miles, but it shouldn't need it. Thing put out 700RWHP in the other car- without an intercooler. Should be able to get up to that number again. Figure we'll ease you into the retro world slowly. Should be a beast, but so different from the Porsche! At least you'll have some fat, sticky shoes to help lay it down. Tempted to mini-tub my '68 vert  Or should I build another?

Yeah man I am so anxious to hear that motor fire! :woot:

Yeah ok I guess we can ease into it. And you're right about it being diff than the Porsche..... I def wouldn't feel comfortable doing 175 in the Camaro.

Can't wait to heat up those drag radials and do a 3500rpm clutch dump! :D

Dave,

Glad you're nixing the 175 mph blasts...

Vertigo sounds better than 'The Grey Ghost'. :D

Yeah I figure each car has its purpose right? :D

The Grey Ghost.... I kinda like that!

We were scheduled to fire the motor today and hear some open header thunder, but it was not meant to be. Found out the previous unnamed "builder" (I use that term loosely) did something with the fuel rail and removed the FPR and hacked something up, so Gearhead is working with Holley to send us out a good one within a week. Hopefully fire it up next week. In the meantime, here are a few updated pics of the car. It's starting to like something I can drive!

Dave,

The interior has got a serious look to it.

Tough about the fuel rail.

I'm sure by now you plan on Murphy's Law being in effect , and when he unexpectedly takes a day off its a nice surprise.;)

Thanks Skip. "Serious" was the goal, so glad you think so.

Yeah, it's just funny how I have said many times to Jason @ Gearhead that I am FINALLY done with dealing with the previous builder and the issues caused by or related to him... but his "work" and a missing or shoddy part here and there just keeps creeping up! It's nothing major (yet) but Gearhead is great about going through every nut and bolt of the car to make sure it is up to par and will be mechanically sound, as well just plain safe for me to drive!
