Flat black WRINKLE....
Of course IF we could actually SEE said seat in a photo - we'd have a far better chance of being able to help discuss various options.... |

Almost looks like 3 kirkeys would fit in the front of this rig, then you could go to center steering like a McLaren F1.
Or have them custom build you a huge bench seat? |

I like the Kirkey, powder coated as Roger mentioned. Dark green pads to match the exterior might be worthy of consideration. |
Powder coated my Kirkey semi flat black in my drag car just before I sold It, It looked awsome.

Hang that big wide bad boy from some chain with a couple hood hinge springs from the roll cage and you'd have yourself a boat with a barcalounger....
What could possibly be better than that?? Okay seriously -- that Kirkey back seat is the koolest idea I've ever seen! Can you imagine the knowledgeable people that would see that - you could just sit back and watch their jaws drop! |

Now in mine I took my pedals and pressed on some sealed bearings on the shaft and tacked in a couple of races on the hanger to hold the bearings. My pedals only swing front to back not side to side. The plane the pedals move in is aligned with the throw of the master. The pivot point on the MD linkage is at the bottom and the actuation rod for the master in the middle. The top is the pedal only moving fwd and back in a plane that bisects the master and the path of its piston. I don't think the bottom can chart a different path in my scenario. Ask your buddy if he can rock his pedals side to side, I bet he can. The only way to do that with mine is with a sledge or something else that can bend the hanger. http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/l...psa5dd6501.jpg http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/l...ps2dad131d.jpg Quote:

Today was another demo day. I took out about 40lbs of stock AC/heater. 39" that seems excessively large. http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/l...ps6d73e259.jpg BEhind all that I found some clean rust free firewall. Whew... It's always scary digging into a portion of a 44+ year old car. You never know what horrors you may find. I dodged another bullet. http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/l...ps24f175f2.jpg I also spent some time mapping out the location for my dry sump tank. Here is the hillbilly template in action. And the tank in case you following at home have forgotten what it looks like. http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/l...pse4b4f6dd.jpg http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/l...a/ALMStank.jpg :popcorn2: |
Dang that tank is huge. A Betsy sized tank for a Betsy sized car. Perfect.
Black coated Kirkey seat FTW. |

Like I said a combo of the two will be where I land. :bitchslap: I tired to talk Matt out of using his GT seats in the 65 but he wisely kept them for his project.:) |

You don't even know how funny that is. When I bought my car it had centerlines with about an inch of backspace, air shocks on it and sat about like that. Maybe it was that guys previous car. I only wish I had a picture to post. |

Different strokes for different folks. He's having more fun with his than you are right now. :D
I've given you a hard time but I'm looking forward to your results and hope you wipe up some of these Camaros. |

You aren't tearing into that SEMA design award winner just for style point are you? With all that talk about your mighty little 454 LS chassis dyno numbers I figured yours should be sorta fast :action-smiley-027: Quote:
I'm heading to CO to pick up my motor next Fri so all the parts are converging. |
