I could make it 2 or 3 feet shorter if I wanted the lift gate style vs the internal lift... but I don't think the difference between 44 feet vs 47 feet would be worth the ease of use that I "THINK" will come with the internal lift.
The thought of having Charley up in the air trying to hold my car from rolling back off the tailgate just worries be a bit. I question his commitment. :D |
Well we finally have a final design - equipment list - and a price etc...
So it's game on! Waiting for a delivery date "promise" now. :woot: |
Congrats Greg, can't wait to see the finished product:thumbsup:
|
Ready for your rig's annual checkup? :unibrow:
|
I have "people".... No owners of this kind of stuff washes or waxes themselves. They take professional maintenance. So I usually just pull it into Charley's wash shack... :faint:
|
That "people" in the video has you figured out. :D
What's the Mothership's ETA? |

Good question === no answer yet. I've signed all the contracts - signed the design off -- sent lots of money..... Now we're going to go straight to the factory in Elkhart after GNRS. Then I'll decide on all the little details - interior stuff etc - and when that's done they should be able to guessitmate a completion date. I'm hoping May.... |
By the time its done all of us will be using wheelchairs, with modified suspensions of course...
|
Hey! It took me FIVE YEARS just to finally pull the trigger.... so what's another few months? Besides - the longer I can stretch this out - the more page views it gets and eventually I'll be able to top Todd's Payback thread!:woot:

I have to tell you that ordering this thing has been 'fun' because it's exciting... but it's also been a big hassle. My problem is - I have no knowledge base to build on. Only trailers I've had were just '24 TAG type... this thing is a whole 'nother level. I did a car swap today - using the big rig to tow the current TAG.... that big ol' truck doesn't even recognize there's a trailer back there... But it sure is fun to drive. I L O V E the huge mirrors! |

Don't worry, you make up for it in ego. :mock:

I know, right? Quote:
She's in a different state... but I'm certain this isn't self curing.:peepwall: |

But nimble, eh? :D BTW-I like the pic for the perspective it gives. |

The viewing height has to make for a good touring experience! |
Just like that pic at Daves party
|
Remember Greg, size doesn't matter...thats what the girls say.
|
At least the antennas are taller.
HEEP |

I know that sounds funny -- but it's the height that makes these things so easy to drive.... you don't have to just react to traffic... you can SEE way down the road and know what's going on. And on the hiway - it's a very relaxed pace compared to the view from a car <think about Go-Karts and how they make you think you're just screaming>. Quote:
Pretty much!! :D Quote:
I have an old saying about not hitting bottom but scraping the hell out of the sides.... :D Quote:
I hadn't noticed til you mentioned it --- I'm an old DX'r (and HAM) and bigger antennas are a "must have" as well as other items that go along with that. :D CQ! CQ! CQ DX! |
Here's a shot of it in Bakertucky as the sun was setting....

That thing even makes Bakertucky look like a hospitable place. There is something about it though that bugs me. Can't put my finger on it. :headscratch: Maybe the fuel doors?:_paranoid |

Personally I think it's ugly as sin... the grill makes it look like a big fat pig. But I can't see that when I'm driving it - so I don't care! LOL I just emailed the dealer this morning -- told him the tanks will have to be drained and new fill necks WILL get welded on.... AND they WILL pay for it. :bang: |
Your own big rig, how cool is that?
|

It's okay I guess..... :D |
Needs rims. :D

Looked through most of this thread. Still haven't seen where they put the 'spit your chew' receptacle?

The worst part of driving stuff like this -- TRUCK STOPS.... OMG! Just nasty and full of.... well.... never mind. |
Watch out for the "lot lizards" at those truck stops

Headed to the trailer plant (Renegade) on Tuesday -- will finalize all interior selections and any other details that haven't already been worked out.
Delivery date is tentative sometime in JUNE.... I'm good with that. Will give me a chance to go over it with a fine tooth comb and have the factory correct anything I find that I don't like... I'll drive the tractor there to pick it up myself - weather will be good -- and I can haul a couple thousand miles and get used to it. EEEEEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAA |
 Can't wait to see this one Greg:popcorn2:
|
Wow Greg I guess I was laid up when you started this thread with the details, I just checked it out. Never came inside before. My eyes are watering from all the reading. That is So Sweet! I'll keep watching from now on.
