Looking Killer! The black under the hood is so clean looking.

You didn't miss anything. I haven't said much about it. It is for a remote oil tank for my LS7. Heads where shipped to Mike Norris. He had the exhaust valves replaced, guides installed along with double stack springs and stage II porting. I also purchased a BTR stage II cam for it. Hopefully Jeff and I will be starting on the engine shortly. I'll post pictures as we build the engine.

Thank You. It's all Mr Wizard....aka Jim. Sounds like the big areas have all been wet sanded. The fenders and tail pan are all that remain. I am headed up next week to drop off the window trim and can't wait to see the car.

I asked the same thing and was told it's not allow outside till it heads home. Guess I'll have to get photos of it then. :flashie:

Me too! Should be fun. I'm a bit nervous as this will be the first one I've built. Thankfully Jeff has done more than a few and they've all been stellar. Always good to have the professional backing you up.

Spiffav8 06-10-2017 10:08 PM

Updates are coming in at a crazy rate. Not complaining! Jim said his finger tips needed a rest from all the wet sanding, so he laid down some Dynomat, painted the trunk, installed the door and trunk rubber and the stainless hardware for the doors. You know...a nice easy relaxing kind of day. :relax:

Paint came out beautiful, cars coming along nicely. Detailing with the ARP bolts and washers on the hinges looks top notch, LS7 powerplant............. keep a train a rolling.

Love it Curtis! Everything is looking well worth the wait.

I just returned from Jims and have to say that the car looks SO much better in person. Jim polished up the drivers rear quarter so I could see the "final product". It's silly. I rolled the dice on the hardware and agree that it's a nice way to detail things. I've heard a lot of great things about the LS7, but have never driven one. Looking forward to it.

Oh yeah!! Three weeks and I can bring it home. The glass arrived Friday and I dropped off the stainless trim and rear bumper. Jim and I had to hold things in place and have a look. Yeah.....:bump:

Goal is to have it road worth for SEMA. At least so I can get it to the dyno so Mike Norris can tune it. Jeff and I are going to be busy!!

Spiffav8 06-30-2017 07:10 PM

I've been slacking on the updates, but progress continues. I made the cross country trip to pickup the stainless trim and rear bumper after having them repaired and cleaned up. The shop did a great job and I as very please. Sihilling Metal Polishing in Santa Ana, CA 714-543-7051 ask for Charles. Highly recommend them. Drove up to Stockton and got to see the car for the first time since it was painted. :flag2:

Jim actually let me help with a few small things which was nice. Basically minor things that I couldn't mess up. :sieg:

Since my last post the control arms and spindles have been painted, the headliner has gone in, some of the trim is on the car, all the rubber trim is in place and the quarter glass has been installed. Door glass and door internals are in progress and it sounds like the windshield and back glass will be installed in a few days. Won't be long now!

Headliner needs to go in prior to the glass for a good fit according to the interior guys I talked to. Jim had done this with the Shelby so it wasn't new to him. Mr Wizard does it again.

I ordered a dome light kit for the car and of course the base looked like garbage. Called CamaroCentral who pulled 5 of them and said they all looked that way. They where quick to refund my money and even threw in a small gift certificate for the trouble. Great customer service.

https://photos.smugmug.com/photos/i-...-WQs4QZW-L.jpg

Jim stated that it was un-sat, but of course he had a solution. Looks even better IMO.

It's the easy answer. I think Jim used an Eastwood paint that's specifically made to paint plastic.

As far as trailering is concerned -- just have Reliable pick it up and bring it to you... It's so easy.

I've got one to drop off when I pick mine up. Would be nice to hit the easy button though. This will do the trick. It came with a winch, straps and a set of Race Ramps.

I don't think Jim was to hip on the control arms at first, but then he saw what it could look like on some TV show and that was all it took. I agree they look better black.

The engine is in my garage in a million pieces. New LS7 block waiting to be built. One hurdle at a time my friend.

Pilkington classics. Looks like good stuff and supposedly it has the factory curve and fit.
