After a long weekend with me and my brother in the garage we now have a noise maker. Don't mind me at the end where I bump the start button with the engine running. I was a little excited. Lol

We just temporarily started the car using a toggle switch for the ignition and a momentary switch for the starter.

Thanks guys, It felt great! I need to get some more photos uploaded. After 30 years of being off the road the car is officially ready to move under its own power. Its no where near done but its a big milestone for me. :headspin:

updates.

Great to see the baby pic. She'll appricate you building her car some day. LOL
You are welding the trans tunnel once you blow apart the car right?

Great job on the seat mounts. They look well thought out. If you don't pull the wire/gun back after pulsing, it should eliminate the voids / holes. Just hold the position until you pull the trigger. I'f someone all ready mentioned something, I missed it. Mybad. LOL

I've seen the Weld wheels before and never thought much of them as I assumed they were a drag race wheel. They look great !!! What model are they?

Keep up the great work !!!!!

So I've been a total slacker and haven't kept up on the threads and the car has moved to another burner yet again. At the end of last year we were gifted with our 2nd child so we've been busy enjoying our little family. But that's ok, I still get to make some time for the car during naps and after bed time.

Unfortunately I don't have an impressive amount of progress to show, and I am sure I am missing something but I'll post some random pictures.

Custom 3" aluminum driveshaft I had made at pem racing. Sonnax forged t56 yoke and 1350 joints.

The car sat for a while, wasn't sure what direction to go with exhaust. I wanted stainless mandrel, got a few scary quotes and ultimately decided to buy a small tig welder and attempt to tackle this myself. After some trial and error I am mostly happy with the results. It's not completely finished welded yet but it's getting there.

And you wanted to pay someone to do this for you? You killed it! i'm bashing away on my garage project and your welds looked mint. Damn good on ya for doing this yourself.yes there's lots of great shops out there but for a guy to have the balls to do it himself...damn good job...
