Just kidding but really... I've been watching for you to post an update to your thread wherever it is just so I could get a better look at the car. That tiny sigpic looks really good but just isnt doing it for me. Got any more? |
Nothing worth mentoning about my car, so no build thread
here are a couple of pics though https://lateral-g.net/forums/showthread.php4?t=38245 |

Its a clean car with a nice stance that you didn't mortgage a house to build and a lot of guys would surely like to emulate. :bitchslap: Don't tell me you haven't put some of that motor building knowhow into making it a runner. |

Now update us on your Torino :warning: |

Haven't done anything exciting. Just ordered some parts and firmed up some decisions. Spoke to Tarrant T at Del Mar Goodguys about my front brake set up which I'm going to order next week. Bought an NRG 2.8 quick release and short hub for my steering wheel. http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/l...ps034e9594.jpg Bought a set of gauges from Speedhut since they were having a 20% off sale in March. I'm finalizing the design of them right now. This is close to what they will be. http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/l...ps6f79b4ba.png Bought a wheel fit tool and have rounded up a couple of used tires for mock up and wheel measurements. I'm going to get my brake parts on, measure and order wheels. Ordered my Peterson spline drive hub and stackers so I can star making brackets for my KSE PS/Fuel pump and my alternator. The parts are on backorder so probably 3 more weeks before I get the Peterson stuff. Got some work done on Cheryl's Bronco so soon I'll be free to spend more time on the Torino  |
 :cheering: :hello:
|
I dig those gauges. Also, I forgot, maybe you mentioned it earlier, but which wheels did you decide on?

Those gauges are going to be nice, are you keeping the stock dash?
Curious to what you do, I've been wanting to change mine for a while now and really like the Speedhut gauges, lots of possibilities! |
Glad to see your making headway on the "big girl"!! I like the gauges as well.

I like that! "Big Girl"...... Project reminds me of a squirrel mounting an elephant! :disgusted: :whenitsdone: :action-smiley-027: |

Aww that was a visual that I didn't need. How am I going to watch Ice Age ever again with out that thought.....:thankyou: :welder: :lmao: I only say the "big girl" comment since Rob and I have tossed it back and forth with both of our projects. Mine isn't a petite princess either.... |

Yep -- those look like FORD parts -- two flat pieces with a plastic piece in-between!!! :trophy-1302: :animated_bye_bye_em

Two beautifully engineered splined steel pieces with a light and functional AL piece locked in between. Race car goodness at it's best just like the Ford stuff but this is made by Peterson Fluid Systems. :smiley_smack: |
It's pretty cool alright -- I just couldn't figure out what it's purpose is... LOL
|
Speedhut (internals) is what Redline used for mine as well. I really like the idea of the integrated programmable warning light.
That being said, considering they have warning lights I think I would personally omit the red warning "range" on the dials for a cleaner look. :) |
Thanks how is your "little" Chevelle coming along? GW forgets who first said that about my girl with the big back end.
The "little" Chevelle is coming along. I updated the post today. I have had a few family issues go on around here so I haven't kept up with the forum lately. She is getting pulled back apart and the metal is getting finished getting ready for some color hopefully soon. I like the gauge setup your doing, that is something I need to work on as well..... it just keeps going and going................. |
Pretty Pretty Parts!!

Personally, after trying to read the cool looking gauges in my Camaro, I would use big fat needle and put a warning range on the tach, and maybe put it on the oil and water temps as well. When you're flying down a straight, it is much easier to tell what RPMs your turning with a big red block on one side of the gauge. The red range blocks help to give you a point of reference so things are easier to discern, and (at least for me) requires less thinking when driving. |

This may well be the highest quality best composed photo you've ever produced. :D

All jokes aside, your Torino is going to be bad ass, if it isn't already. What's your tentative schedule like? Look forward to cruising with you one day. |
I envy that drysump tank.....
Looks like its coming along well Rob. |
Some grainy pictures just for GW :ups: :relax:
