I'm good with that. Will give me a chance to go over it with a fine tooth comb and have the factory correct anything I find that I don't like... I'll drive the tractor there to pick it up myself - weather will be good -- and I can haul a couple thousand miles and get used to it.

EEEEEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAA

I'll e-mail you the Torino dimensions.:unibrow:

If that's the case, hopefully it's too late to upgrade the axles. :unibrow:

GregWeld 02-13-2013 09:42 PM

It's got THREE 10,000 pound axles on air ride....

Might not be enough....

Exactly, cuz on roadtrips I get tired and crash anywhere. I'd prefer a sturdy, comfy place instead... like what you've got on order. :thankyou:

Greg,
I was reading Jack's forum "darkside" and thought I should apply for your runner up driver.
It will require you to drive north of the border and pick me and my car up and we can head off to power tour from there.
Oh and if you need a resume it is posted below.

I can back this sucker around a corner:action-smiley-027:

GregWeld 02-18-2013 06:14 PM

OMG!!!! Kevin.... Dude!! You're not my runner up -- you're it!!!

Would you be embarrassed to drive my little M2 though?? The exhaust is hidden underneath and it drinks cat pee... and has an automatic. Kind of a girlie truck.

Of course not Greg,
actually this one burns urea as well and is an 18spd autoshift as well..
Shhhhhh:rolleyes:
But not to worry I have one that is an 18 spd manual too.

Don't be fooled by the shadow I am only 5'8"

GregWeld 02-19-2013 07:56 AM

On a flight to Chicago as I type this... then the drive to Elkhart, Indiana... Whooohoooooo...... Work tomorrow at the Renegade factory finalizing the various open details. I'm jazzed to see the factory. Hopefully I can sweet talk them into bumping my build up the line and maybe get a May delivery date. Doubtful but I'll still try!

I think the dealer said my rails are laid up... we shall see.

KPC67 02-19-2013 11:34 AM

Good stuff Greg,
Take some pics if you can:thumbsup:

Greg… I used to travel to Elkhart quite often for business trips. If you go back again… check into flights to South Bend Indiana rather than Chicago… this saves quite a bit of hassle with driving, traffic, and crowds. I got this tip from my buddies in Elkhart.

Last time I was there the conditions were about the same :D

The dealer flew into South Bend.... I was able to rent a car - have lunch - drive to Elkhart - check into the hotel - and drove back to South Bend Regional Airport and then sat and waited for him to arrive.

I originally tried to fly into SB - but it was just too much effort... and took all day. Whereas flying into Chicago - I had lots of choices of carriers and times... and it was only the one non-stop flight.

Now -- today will be a hassle because it snowed all night... which could make the drive back to Chicago not nearly as much fun. We'll see. Then I might be
wishin' I'd have flown to South Bend!

Traveling half a continent at your age should help sway them into doing a 'May mercy' delivery.

That's a possibility, but after today's meeting to "finalize the various open details" I seriously doubt it. This :getout: is always a possibility too. :lmao:

Let's get this thread back off track and talk about something interesting that has a motor..........like Kevin's articulating 535 Case! Hopefully Dave and Greg will pm each other regarding interior the design elements sparing us the hormonal agony of reading about drapes, floors, counters, door knobs, light & plumbing fixtures. :D

Man you guys are brutal..... I take a one day trip and get thrown under the bus!

Siegmiester.... detailed pics of fabrics and granite WILL be posted tomorrow (plane wifi is way to slow)

Rob.... What can I say. The mini gave me shrinkage. Seriously. I've never been so humiliated driving anything before. I don't understand ANYONE ever wanting to actually buy one those things. It's just wrong in so many ways.

Jer.... I couldn't find anyone that was willing to give up his man card snapping photos of me with the mini van. Nobody wanted to be seen as actually wanting to savor such a sight.

Phaeton 02-20-2013 08:26 PM

Send them to Flashy he'll gladly post them up for you.

Granite! This is a race trailer! How many pounds per square foot? The environmental impact on fuel efficiency not to mention the strip mining process is nothing short of appalling. :sieg:

How about construction photos?

GregWeld 02-21-2013 06:29 PM

First off -- this RENEGADE factory is enormous! As in OMG I had no idea!! I'm just guessing at the size of the buildings - but my best guess is 200,000 sq ft and there's two of them! You have to drive between them (car of golf cart).

So there's not going to be any particular order to the pics... But basically they build more Toterhomes and motor coaches than trailers. They have three different levels -- Renegade is the bottom - Explorer is the middle and IKON is the Caddy. My trailer is a combo of the Explorer SKIN -- with an IKON interior. They can not use the IKON skin/wall for the trailer... So I'm having them prime - sand (block) and paint the Explorer skin - and then it gets two coats of clear. Basically I'm trying to get the look of the IKON using the Explorer skin.

The amount of WIRE in one of these is mind numbing! You think our harnesses are complicated -- you have no idea!!

http://i919.photobucket.com/albums/a...er/file-17.jpg

http://i919.photobucket.com/albums/a...er/file-19.jpg

Note how slick this siding is -- that's the IKON....

http://i919.photobucket.com/albums/a...er/file-16.jpg

This is a used one they're remodeling -- it's a Renegade -- so is fairly plain jane... I'll have a LOT more Stainless steel etc on mine.
But I took this photo because it shows the triple axles -- with the commercial 22.5" tires... my axles will be on air --- and instead of drum brakes mine will be air driven disc.

http://i919.photobucket.com/albums/a...er/file-12.jpg

A 40' piece of the siding that will go on my unit. You can see the fiberglass print through -- thus the primer - sanding - painting.

http://i919.photobucket.com/albums/a...er/file-21.jpg

Another "remodel" -- brakes - bearing service and a few tweaks and re-dos.... Note how slick the paint is.... so that's what I'm doing except all white.

http://i919.photobucket.com/albums/a...er/file-11.jpg

The way my windows will be done - this is the IKON "frameless" version.

http://i919.photobucket.com/albums/a...ler/file-2.jpg

This shot is for CHARLIE.....

The TV that is going in the bedroom -- which he'll never see..... :mock: :mock:

http://i919.photobucket.com/albums/a...ler/file-6.jpg

Not my unit -- but this is how they do the wood around the windows etc. This is a slide out - the sofa is missing as well as the doors for the overhead storage.

http://i919.photobucket.com/albums/a...ler/file-5.jpg

The galley area being built.
