Here is a little in car video of this past weekend @ Laguna Seca! I was testing my skills on "Loose is Fast".. This was one of the most fun events that I have driven! The cork screw was a blast.. Bruce Cambren gave me some advise on front straight away coming over the hill where I kept lifting.. I managed to put 117 mph with his advise when he clocked me! On my last run of the day I was able to sueeze in my best time of the day 1.55.. Special thanks to Danny Popp & Casey Cronin for teaching me how to drive.. I promise you guys I will get faster with time.. & to my good friend Karl Dunn.. you have allowed me to live something I only thought would be a dream! Thank you Karl for letting me drive the Challenger this weekend..

damn that 340 sounds awesome!!! Nice work. Sure beats Willows and adams aye?

That was pretty fun to watch. It was nice meeting you on saturday in line for our 45minute burger. I found out they were just aging the cheese....
|
Vince- When I told Bruce Cambren that the car had an LS in it.. he just laughed.. No wonder the car is fast!
Laguna Seca is one of the greatest tracks that I have ever visited & had the opportunity to drive in.. In July they will have a Corvette Challenge their that I plan on doing again! Quote:

Hiya Chris,
Wanted to introduce myself on Saturday but every time I saw you, you were either driving or had a 3-deep crowd around you. Car runs great and judging by the grin every time you got out of it you were having a heck of a time driving it. Congrats on another successful build. |
Nice vid Cris. You don't look so uncomfortable behind that wheel anymore. :D

Its a 440 6bbl. Vid is very cool Cris, I think they are the best teaching aids. Teachs you where you hit the breaks early, and got on the throttle late. etc. etc. I watched the vid of Farrington following my Mustang, it was the most helpful thing, except I determined that I suck. |

Thanks for the ride along, that was awesome!! My hands started sweating just sitting here watching you drive the course. What I liked was watching you step the pace up every time you caught up to another car on the track, rabbit and the hare kind of deal. I do the same thing, when you see someone you are chasing down, you try just a bit harder to catch them. Question about the passing rules, about the 15 minute mark you came up no a black import type car...and struggled just a bit while waiting until his passenger finally pointed you by. I thought for a second you were gonna pass him a few times then backed off. What exactly are the passing rules at these events? Do you have to wait for a point by? Or do you have to wait for a passing zone? Or both? Looked fun, would have loved a chance to drive on that track. |
You should of just come by.. I would have kicked everybody else to the curb! :D Thanks for the props!

I watched this paticular video ever nite to study the track.. You don't suck! You just have to drive with both arms! not with your elbow hanging out the window .. :ohsnap: Quote:
Glad you enjoyed the ride along! I never thought that I would be driving like this in such quick time especially passing cars.. The highlight of this session was passing Matt Alcala! We have been bringing in Danny into SoCal for the last two months not only to shake down the car but to instruct me & Karl.. I ran the car with no adjustments all weekend.. just adjusted tire pressures! Car ran like a champ.. We only had four areas that we could pass on.. So I tried to stay within those areas of passing plus was driving within my comfort zone.. This session was my sloppy one of them all.. by the end of the day I had better lines.. One of the main reasons I drove the car hard was because I had confidence in it! I rode shot gun with Danny many times when we were doing our shake down runs that taught me what the Challenger could do.. Rumor has it that JCG has a new addition to their crew! http://i1015.photobucket.com/albums/...ps153e2a03.jpg Quote:
