Good Morning All or Evening if your still up,
I have got to get these guy's to stop using the bed for parts storage. ps - neither Kenny or Bob sprayed this color. http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._thrash_36.jpg Quick Picture of the hood http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._thrash_58.jpg www.cmu.edu/randyslecture |
Good Morning,
Kenny & Bob laid out the two tone lines on the cab. If your curious -- yes they within 1/32" They have to be perfect for Bob. Doing it right meant paint had to go into the door jams. http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._Thrash_48.jpg At one time there was a weld Seam on the back of the cab. We didn't care for how it looks so bye bye it goes http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._Thrash_50.jpg Getting some Color http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._Thrash_59.jpg What a Difference it makes to have the 2nd color on the truck. Bob spent a couple hours looking at paint chips trying to get the right color "Red" http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._Thrash_64.jpg Time to pull the paper off and get it out of the booth. Yep - that's Speedy on the left and Bob on the right. Someone has to tell Kenny to lay off the Caffeine http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._Thrash_72.jpg www.cmu.edu/randyslecture |
Good afternoon All,
Truck is out of the Booth and ready to get put back together http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._Thrash_78.jpg That would be Travis's *****en Dually on the left. http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._Thrash_81.jpg Bob & Speedy hanging the fenders. http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._Thrash_88.jpg Yep, 30 Seconds later the fender is hung. http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._Thrash_90.jpg It's starting to look like a truck again. http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._Thrash_92.jpg I bet you guy's really want to see what it looks like with fenders, hood & doors. |

Yet Another Update.
The two tone has been layed out and now it's time to work on the tailgate. It's a fairly large & flat surface so it needs to be broken up just a little. http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._thrash_48.jpg Placement of the Graphics is key. http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._thrash_49.jpg http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._thrash_55.jpg Soon you will see the finished product. http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._thrash_56.jpg |
WOW.........:unibrow:

What a great looking truck!!

Good Afternoon All,

Hi All,
It's all about the little details that no one may ever notice. This is how the bed gap looks on a Stock s10 -- Not so good. http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._28_05_003.jpg Sliding the bed forward you can solve the gap problem. However, you will need to stiffen the chassis to prevent the bed from twisting and hitting the cab. http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album...5_07_05_15.jpg Of Course this then leads to the next problem. The bed is just a little wider then the cab. http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._10_06_021.jpg So off comes the bed. Now it's time to drill out all of the spot welds that hold the bed sides on the truck http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._10_06_032.jpg Just a close up of the fun that Dave had drilling spotwelds http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._10_06_033.jpg |
It's not over yet - it's actually just beginning.
This is proof that you fix one problem and it just makes the other problems look worse. You can see that the cab has an excessive curve to it - now that has got to get fixed. http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._06_20_025.jpg You can see that Kenny is hard it here. This is proof that Kenny is an all around Builder. http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album...07_08_19_2.jpg Time to start slinging some mud. http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album...07_11_15_0.jpg The bed had to come off so you can see the work Kenny did on the "B" Pillars http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album...11_25_KD_0.jpg Now this is how it should have come from the factory http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album...12_03_KD_0.jpg |
Still not Satisfied
Somethings is really wrong with Kenny. http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album...02_18_KD_1.jpg Time to put some paint on it and make sure it looks good. Yep - this is just a test paint. http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album...29_KD_GT_0.jpg Looks like they nailed it. http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album...8_04_12_91.jpg Notice the Cab Union is Nice and Straight. http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._thrash_13.jpg |
the attention to detail and overall greatness of this build makes me look at mine and wonder why I try!
|
what are you guys working on now

Good Afternoon All, I bought a set of seat on Ebay. The goal was to see how they would look in the truck. So Opinions are welcome. Yes, they are different heights - we just bought them for the frames. http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album...04_12_kd_1.jpg http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album...04_13_kd_0.jpg http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album...04_13_kd_4.jpg So what do you all think |
Good looking seats
|
i really like them... there is somthing cheap looking about the oem seats... i know yoryu are going for that OEM look and your interior is sweet... but i really like those seats you have in there...
|
They're not bad looking seats, but I'm not a fan of seats you can see through the back window on a standard cab truck. I know that isn't the best for really driving, but I just don't like the look. I was thinking of building a removable upper section of the seat. You would have function while driving hard and looks when it is parked. JMO No matter what, it is going to be bad a$$.

lol - Bob Johnson said he would whoop our ass if we used tall seats. I do like the idea of a removable head rest. |
As long as the seats don't stand too tall its not that big of an eye sore. I've got a 3rd Gen and the factory seats are visible through the back glass. Just put some DARK tint back there and no one will know! Plus you keep the safety of the tall seat, not beating your head against the back glass in the event of a collision
|
The seats won't be any taller then the factory seats. If we cut them down below the window then they would be at my nipples and i'm short.

I like the "ebay style" post myself...
Seats are cool Marty, I agree with cutting them down way short so they are not taller than the bottom of the rear window. Truck is looking good! |

Looks really good marty! are thos JDM Knock off's ;)
who makes them? |
Quote:
they are actually JDM seats that I bought off of ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...NA:MOTORS:1123 I like the style of the seat and i'm really looking forward to what Tracy can do with them. |

Good Morning All,
As everyone know's i'm a big fan of Bell Tech. I've used there stuff on all of my truck builds and it's worked out great each and every time. http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album...belltech_2.gif Previously installed on the truck was there Sway Bar. www.belltechcorp.com http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album...tiSwaybars.jpg http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._12_09_001.jpg When Precision Brakes built my front Brake Kit they used a generic Spindle. The intention has always been to install Bell Tech Drop Spindles. This is where I normally would insert a picture of the actual spindle they shipped me. However, we all know Kenny's not good with the Camera so the guy's at Bell Tech sent me a nice image. http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album...pindle2100.jpg I really happy to working with another great company and I look forward to working with them on future projects. ps - don't worry I have 4 more posts sitting in the que |

Good Morning All,
Yet, another modification that is so simple and may never be noticed. From the Factory the body line on the "A" pillar was going in the wrong direction. http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._03_03_031.jpg It actually touched the corner of the fender and was about 3/4" up near the door. http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._04_01_004.jpg After a little metal work it looks stock. http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._Thrash_21.jpg It's all the little details that make the difference |
when we going to see some full body shots? :unibrow:
