Shane,

I will be there on July 8th. The Camaro will be sporting brand new 16" Goodyear slicks. First time ever on my car. The AAS events are the best around. Please come say hi.

Brian

Oooh I love that! What wheels?

conekiller13 07-03-2012 07:45 AM

16" Slicks? Nice. Are those the same ones that Stagnaro uses? Does that require a change in brakes? Lastly, why the change?

Yes, the same Stagnaro and Maier use.

I have run on Hoosier and Goodyear radials and they have their benefits and drawbacks. They both work great with cooler track temps. The slip angles are not nearly what the 16" bias ply slicks are. The slicks work amazing when temps are over 70+ degrees. When 90 degrees, they are a world apart.

The car was built with running the 16" in mind. That is why the rotors are 12". I will post some photos later with the 16" wheels on the car.

They are "Real Wheels". Nothing fancing. Super light and not too expensive. I will post photos later.

New shoes look killer! Love the old school look with the yellow lettering. Makes me think of Kenny Rogers and "Six Pack" the movie. Looks good

The new wheel/tire package is awesome.
I'll echo Dave's thoughts, I love how you do your own thing and not just what "everybody" is doing.

Cool! I'm actually running the same hood. How was the quality of your hood before the mods? The underside of mine wasn't properly glassed in and causes it to bow up in the middle and the scoop is also uneven.

My hood was probably the same way as yours. We spent a lot of time on this hood. It was not even, so we cut it down. More on one side than the other. We also removed the spine and added a body line down the center.

Been getting the Camaro ready to go back to Nebraska for the SCCA Solo II National Championship the first week of September. We are running the Goodyear slicks and the car is really close. Here are a few photos of the car and an in car video from this past weekends American Autocross Series event in Marina, CA.

I have my Camaro in the Wilwood Disc Brakes booth at the Pleasanton Goodguys. This has been a very busy and nice show. Wilwood's booth is across from Maier Racing's booth and Mikes Mustang.
