The issues we were having were not really allowing us to really push the car as hard as I wanted too.. Have been working all day on getting them fixed..
All I can say their were some real fast cars out their & the times they were running were un-real! Quote:

I don't know about that Greg, cause I've never seen you ride a jet ski. Your right James! I need all the seat time I can get! The marina looks like a great place to autox, and it looks a lot more open for american muscle or bigger cars. The tracks around here are usually pretty tight Miata tracks. With all the talent there, I'd pay just to watch. |
Here is a action shot with Brian @ the wheel & Mary riding shot-gun!

I just thank them for building such a Sweet Ride...:hail: EDIT....Spending door got turned into a 2009 370Z for her, and now she is looking for a Truck up grade.. I will get a poster of Blu balz for my office to keep the dream alive.. EDIT...Seig , you know from the investment thread that I put my " employees " to work...My Wife is so cool and smart, she is saying to leave the money for the Denali working for the rest of the year, and by then , we will have 4000 dollars more for the Truck..I love it... But those pictures are just sweet, and the car ?? One of the best first generation camaros I have ever seen. |

Testing & tuning @ the Camarillo Airport today...
BB's new shock re-tune & spring rates have made the car much better.. I even layed down a decent Auto-X time in it today.. We got the car back to its orginal ride height.. Looking @ maybe 1 inch lower on all four corners.. We got plenty of suspension travel.. The Mustang was tested today for a guide to see where we could make improvements.. This car is awesome as it is.. But new shocks, tires & wheels, custom sway bars & lowering it is on the list for changes.. http://i1015.photobucket.com/albums/...n/IMG_2297.jpg http://i1015.photobucket.com/albums/...n/IMG_2298.jpg |
We took the Camaro to Delmar this weekend & did some Autocrossing .. We had a bunch of fun & of course learned a lot more about tuning a suspension… We had to make some pretty crazy changes to get the car to turn on that nasty hairpin they had on peanut Auto-X.. Brian Hobaugh was driving it for the event.. Kyle Tucker & Mike Maier also took a spin around the course! A lot of information was being relayed to make BB better..
The one thing I knew we were having is piston knock back on the rear.. Auto-X is where I have experienced it the most.. plus also blew another set of ring & pinion on the car… Here are some pics of what is happening You can see where the axle stop is grinding into the seal plus has a ring that is creating a surface that I am not liking.. The rear end is out of the car! Floating rear is going into the car! http://i1015.photobucket.com/albums/...n/IMG_2325.jpg http://i1015.photobucket.com/albums/...n/IMG_2323.jpg http://i1015.photobucket.com/albums/...n/IMG_2324.jpg I meet with Jason & Jay from the THE GMR today! They brought in some parts for me to take a look at & see if this is the route I wanted to go to on BB.. The quality of their parts are top notch! Jason is picking up the rear end tomorrow morning to convert it to their floater system.. Plus got a few more of their parts going on the car.. JCG will be working on some other projects with THE GMR here pretty soon! http://i1015.photobucket.com/albums/...L4-GT-1011.jpg Got some other changes coming too... JRI shocks! The AFCO's are good.. but we want more! |
Knockback, what's that? That was your master cylinder problem at El Toro. That is a beast of a rear end.
|
Will BBalz have any paint left on it by the time you give it back to Karl?
|
Chris, I tried sending you the pictures yesterday via e-mail but it bounced twice. I tried PM but it your box is full. send me a PM with the address you want me to send them too.
Good catching up with you. Keep up the great work  |
M/C problem was @ El Toro.. Boiled the brake fluid & the M/C was by-passing fluid... Got that fixed.. but while testing here on my street & throwing the car around.. I could feel the pedal going down.. The floater will resolve that issue..
Just think! The $$ that you spent on that little red C6 Corvette.. You could have got a floater, new transmission, LS7 & hired a real pro driver to show us what that black 69 could really do! :D I was @ the Chevrolet dealer last week... I almost walked out of their with a Carbon Edition Z06! I wanted it so bad but my daughter was @ the shop & asked when I am going to finish her car.. Quote:

I have no more weekends left to fuss around -- My Brother in Law is going to kill me if I don't get his Big nasty azz blower car off my lift! I should have the AME Ford 9" from them this week -- then I have floors to fab up... and get this pig out of my shed! Besides ---- I have to save my time for the Monaco Grand Prix... Bondurant asked me to put a rose on turn 12 (where he got married) for him... Vegas who? |

Great to meet you Chris. Enjoyed the conversations. Tom |
Here is a little step by step on how the conversion is going on BB. We are using just about everything we can minus the axles, ends, and parking brake for now.
Start - Original setup http://thegmr.com/wp-content/uploads...4/step-one.jpg http://thegmr.com/wp-content/uploads...4/step-two.jpg http://thegmr.com/wp-content/uploads...step-three.jpg http://thegmr.com/wp-content/uploads.../step-four.jpg Jason |
When we first started running the car the brakes were working great… Then we started running the car hard with all the testing & tuning & knew we were having knock back issues.. so when took the diff apart & found we had more issues going on than we thought.. Jason just sent me some pics o f the rear rotors… With all the clamping force & knock back going on.. we were cracking the mounting tabs on the rotors…
Advise guys! If you plan on running a car as hard as we have been lately.. update to a floater rear or just keep the floating calipers.. I will now incorporate rotor check on my safety list before I take car out & run it hard.. http://i1015.photobucket.com/albums/...n/DSC04765.jpg |
