Holley GPS Signal Wire Protection (( 12-03-23 ))
Another simple project.
http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...7b6771b-me.jpg I wrapped the wire in the Tech Flex Abrasion wrap to protect the wire going between the A pillar and dash pad. http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...3842bd7-me.jpg Sorry for the crappy picture. http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...3a1f756-me.jpg |
Holley Fuel Gauge Wiring ((12-03-24 ))
I finally decided to permanently connect the fuel gauge to the Holley ECU and man do I wish I would have never put the seats in.
I removed the plastic wire nut that was only temporary. Honest !!! http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...4146735-me.jpg I left plenty of wire just in case. http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...a4ce52f-me.jpg Complete http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...bd13735-me.jpg Time to make it look pretty. I use twist ties first because of my OCD needed to make sure it looked okay and was easy to service if needed. http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...9fb643c-me.jpg I removed a small circle of the Eastwood sound deadening so I could place the Mag Daddy wire mount. http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...dc6c36f-me.jpg http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...1d02b3a-me.jpg As you can see everything is labeled. http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...9d3c492-me.jpg and of course a couple more To Do Lists. http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...e2e0c5c-me.jpg http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...51bee93-me.jpg |
Engine Bay Picture Just Because (( 12-09-23 ))
The last few days have been crazy busy and I haven't really had time to work on the car and or even ride. A good
friend asked me for a couple pictures of the car so I went out a took a few. http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...07a0504-me.jpg http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...e0cff44-me.jpg Eventually I will take the seat covers off the TMI seats. http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...38d666d-me.jpg |
I only had an Hour (( 12-10-23 ))
Since, I only had an hour so I ran out to the garage to do an easy project.
I installed the rocker gutters or whatever they are called. http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...cd8c90e-me.jpg Just in case anyone needs to know what screws go in the hole. http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...7ec703a-me.jpg I made this wire for something and I really can't remember what for. I feel like it had something to do with the Vintage Air. Eventually I will go through my thousands of pictures to see if I can figure it out. http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...99f50dd-me.jpg I gathered up all of my patterns/template and will be sending them to Ron at Wilson Muscle Cars as he plans to scan them and make them available. Kick panel closeouts Terminator X Vintage Air Mounting Bracket Battery Cut Off Switch Bracket Kicker Amp Rack - Under Package Tray (still looking for this one) Afco 2nd Gen Radiator Mounting Brackets Intake Tube Support Bracket (Works with Afco Radiator) http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...3431cbb-me.jpg I finally ordered the Holley Aluminum Transmission Pan to replace the stamped steel pan. http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...1f8ceba-me.png http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...c4c7c72-me.jpg |
Oh I have learned so much (( 12-16-23 ))
It's kinda funny as this bring back memories of my old cars from back in the day. I would say we have a problem
here and it has nothing to do with the builder. My guess is it's overfull because the cork gasket is saturated and it is weeping out. http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...e401297-me.jpg I learned a little something about the 4L60E transmission today. Apparently, there is an automotive case and a truck case. The truck case has more capacity thicker walls and even has a larger filter. This would be why none of the standard transmission pan actually work. It's good to have those Phone A Friend on speed dial to walk me through some of the learning issue along the way. The most important thing I learned is that cork gaskets suck, and if the pan is slightly overfilled and it reaches the gasket it will eventually saturate the cork and will continue to weep out the sides. Apparently, There is a cork/rubber gasket that works extremely well so I will pick one of those up along with some other stuff. http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...3217ea6-me.jpg Let's pray I don't have to use the oil dry. http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...fce4c5c-me.jpg I removed all but four bolts and lowered them down just a little bit so I can see how much spills out. http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...e0bc791-me.jpg I held the pan up tight and once I lowered it just a little it started raining trans fluid. The funny thing is I filled it to the full level on the lokar dip stick which looks to be about a 1/4 inch to much at this point. Good news pan is off and no oil dry was used. This would be the truck filter which does not work with the Holley stock depth oil pan. http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...4896e61-me.jpg Holy crap was this filter a pain in the but to remove. http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...e6227fa-me.jpg Here is the comparison http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...aa70239-me.jpg Napa sells a kit that includes a cork/rubber gasket which is supposed to work better. http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...66210b2-me.jpg http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...30589d9-me.jpg Temporary Steel pan is on while the Aluminum Holley Pan gets Coated Gloss Black from the guys at Pro-Tek Powder Coating. http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...c342371-me.jpg And of course I will need to pick up more trans fluid. http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...6ea3447-me.jpg |
Wilson Muscle Car (( 12-25-23 ))
Ron from Wilson Muscle Cars asked if I could make a copy of all of my brackets and closeout panels patterns.

Holley Pan, Wire Gutters and Missing Hood Adjuster (( 12-31-23 ))
The Guys at ProTek Powder Coating did and incredible job on the trans pan.
http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...95856f2-me.jpg Wire gutters going in for the last time http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...bbd4b08-me.jpg http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...42ab9af-me.jpg I need to find the hood the billet hood adjuster. http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...5e5595a-me.jpg more patterns http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...15bfcfd-me.jpg http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...7d44bdd-me.jpg http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...a96b22a-me.jpg http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...7003e52-me.jpg http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...aae35f4-me.jpg Picked up more trans fluid as I plan to put the Holley pan on today. http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...0399087-me.jpg |
Holley Trans Pan finally getting installed (( 12-31-23 ))
Who needs to go out and celebrate New Years Eve.
Just kidding I went in after I put the pan in and celebrated with my girls. http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...0f221aa-me.jpg Since the pan is aluminum I will be epoxying the magnet in. http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...80291bd-me.jpg The pan. http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...773ca08-me.jpg Just a reference picture of Lokar Dip Stick level http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...1db5638-me.jpg Magnet going in. http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...05fb2c8-me.jpg http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...13954c4-me.jpg I had to put the steel pan back up as it a drippy little thing. http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...dc50574-me.jpg The plan is to clean the steel pan and just put it up in my attic. JIC http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...e7b0ae7-me.jpg and it's in !!! http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...2a6ebec-me.jpg |
I cleaned the Garage Attic - Not Much Left Up there (( 12-31-23 ))
The garage attic is getting close to being empty of Camaro Parts. Kinda funny I just noticed the RockShox Bluto
box and my guess is that is where my new fork is. http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...49d89b3-me.jpg I also found my old license plates. The very bottom plate is from the 67 Camaro I purchased from Mr. Garcia and unfortunately I had to sell it before I could finish it. I think this is the year that I am going to try to find it and buy it back. http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...b0a4026-me.jpg |
Tell me about the Shinoda plate?
