So, opinions on paint?
It was originally pull me over red. When we obtained it, we had every color car under the sun. Now everything's black. And I think this thing would be wicked in deep black with carbon fiber accents. So, candy apple red or deep black? Either will have carbon fiber accents, perhaps even including flares. I am fixing the quarters, gaps and lead work will be flawless so the car will not have a single dip, orange peel or defect. |
Candy apple red with black carbon accents would be pretty cool. However, if you are going for a more subtle look the deep black with black carbon accents would fit the bill.
Personally, I think this car need the red with carbon. |

Starting to think about selling this off.
I have too many projects going and this will do the same thing my Vette will. |

I've sort of been flat on this project, since I got it back.
Here's why: https://lateral-g.net/forums/showthread.php4?t=49925 Love the pics in that thread? Now that it's behind me, I've started tear down so I can fix what's needed and move forward. So much for this being ready to race this year. Here's where we are now: |
Wow, sorry you got scammed . I tried to warn people. Hopefully you'll be able to salvage your build Somehow.

While I cut off the right quarter, wheel housing (including the DSE piece), repair the damage to the body from removing the filler panel between the rear window and trunk lid - I am sure there's more hiding.
Moving on. We've kept on the engine build. We did have to fabricate a front mounted crank sensor. The MagnumXL crank did not have provisions for a reluctor wheel... I bought it cheap. It also kicked off this entire destroked LS thought process. Transmission's also ready to go. Also had all the exhaust ceramic coated. Don't worry, will polish the fabricated valve covers :) |
Looks like you have some work ahead of you. What are your plans to resolve the significant front and rear suspension issues? It almost looks like a scrap it and start over again scenario.

The right rear quarters will be cut apart and put together right. Heck, I'll even brace it so the roof doesn't drop while the quarter's out. Novel concept. New quarter, wheel tub and DSE mini tub. They will be welded in place with the back window, trunk filler panel and trunk lid in place. I talked with DSE (more awesome guys) about their rear links and bought the stuff to bring it back to their specs, which is 3" still narrower than factory. I can use their sway bar, which won't contact the coils. Scott cut their links, after talking with DSE, which DSE did not advise. The upper rear coil over mounts will move to the inside of the frame, with more help from Ride Tech (Did I mention that Darren's awesome?) using the right shock ends. I will tie the rear most IRS mount into the Tiger Cage. The rear IRS mount is currently a piece of tube welded through sheet metal. We'll connect the round tube sub-frame connectors to IRS' front most mount (it's not all the way there). I am hoping I can heat the bay bar and roll it to fit flush on the frame, after I cut off the flange and weld on a new one. As for Scott keeping my money for my engine/trans/sub frame he sold, that's between him, God and the law. So, all in all, not a complete re-start, but probably 100 hours of work and more parts. |
Man I wondered when you started this thread if you'd read the feedback left over there about Scott Mock. He is building quite a fan club over at the feedback section. Then I saw your post recently, which you were thinking about selling the project off, and it made me wonder if something had went south between you two. Keep your head up. Surround yourself with quality people, and this car will be finished before you know it.
