Are you going for fender clearance on the bumpstop at steering lock?

Not sure what is commonly aimed for.

That's a good question. Maybe a good topic in the steering section.

The short answer is no. :headscratch:

I don't think full lock and full compression are going to happen at the same time. I also am more concerned with the full compression on the trailing side of the tire (behind the spindle at 2 o'clock on the wheel opening) since the car should be leaning towards the rear of the tire when the front is turned in (turn right car rolls left).

So I am looking for full lock at ride height and full compression at say 20 deg of turn angle clearing the 2 o'clock position.:confused18:

Maybe EVOD can machine this into some customs center caps for me.

LOL. Actually we are on the same page. Hopefully we're right and the fenders don't get ripped off :confused18:

Is the best thing about this thread Greg's mobile workshop?

Perhaps... :underchair:

Wouldn't a set of oars and a couple slaves be more appropriate?

Vegas69 05-10-2013 09:43 PM

As soon as you take the car off the trailer some of these parts will really come in handy. I'm going to get my car fix in the badmotorfinger thread.:lmao:

Hmmm The original renderings were going that direction but I couldn't afford the crew and my moral issues with the mere premise of slavery led me away from it. :headscratch:

Not much car related over there but suit yourself. :popcorn2: There is plenty of sunshine in SoCal so there really is no need to remove it from the mobile rack until I have the steering gear in and the wheels on it. :action-smiley-027:

My message is too short so I'll add this line to it.

:ups: More bad photos of good parts.

http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/l...psc5a50ec7.jpg

Whatever your personal opinion of my gauge design Speedhut nailed what I asked for. So for those of you putting together dash I'd recommend contacting them. For close to the same price as an off the shelf gauge you get to tailor them to your specs and they are made here in the USA. They were a pleasure to deal with.

I'll get my camera out and take some decent photos later since I think these deserve better.

This weekend I also got my Steering column and seating position mocked and the steering shaft measured so it can be welded.

I am 99% there on my BS measurements. Just waiting for my my brake parts to get here for one last test fit and then I pull the trigger on the order.

It should be a roller within 6 weeks. :relax:

Rick D 05-13-2013 07:38 PM

Nice setup there Rob!! And yes you need a better camera for those bad boys!:mock:

carbuff 05-13-2013 07:47 PM

Those are sweeeeet.

Payton King 05-14-2013 07:21 AM

I do not see any

Red Warning grading on the speedo...what is up with that. At least a "sound barrier broken here" warning.

GregWeld 05-14-2013 07:24 AM

I think the diesel in my Freightliner has the same redline.

Sieg 05-14-2013 07:33 AM

What!? No anchor warning light?

:D

Nice gauges, Elise at Speedhut has made very positive impressions with me.

GregWeld 05-14-2013 07:41 AM

This should fit nicely in the console.... or up on the hood near where the anchor is kept.

You must have had your motor built like the freight liner at OPTIMA. Check out this months Road and Track; Dan Gurney explains why that is all the rpm you need to win LeMans while driving in relative comfort.:popcorn2:

Yes there is a sensor in the rear bumper. If a Frst Gen Camaro is within 100ft it goes off.:stirthepot: :stirthepot:

Elise and Jessica, their graphics designer, were really cool. I also like the hold music on the phone lines, usually Led Zepplin.

A Drag Reduction System designed like that is going to make it pretty tough to pass a Camaro if you can get within 1 second in the DRS Activation Zone. :D

Just like Gurney said in R&T 6.5 mpg @ 200 for 3k+ mi. :D

He's trying to work through those issues of feeling like he's standing in a trench all the time. The anchor to GW embodies why he can't get up to see the top shelf in the pantry. I'm just trying to be supportive while he comes to grip with that internal struggle. That's what friends are for. :relax:

The faster you're going the better your chances are of getting away. So maybe it should be Jail, Almost there, They'll never catch you. :)

If you pass a cop on the side of the road at 185 you can hit the next exit before they even put their car into gear........so I've heard.
