Yeah Wayne -- it's a REAL SHOP with some quality guys! The management of the project has just been stellar! Quote:
Oh yeah -- that's the whole reason for the move to CHRA -- well -- now turns out to be one of many good reasons to move -- but It WILL BE DONE for the tour. Quote:
I like her better maybe....... Quote:
Napkin sketches sometimes work just great. One of the guys in the shop sketched it in pencil -- BAM! Build it! Quote:
HAHAHAHAHAHA I'll post the car it came from......... https://lateral-g.net/forums/attachme...1&d=1513957574 |
The truck looks great but I sure wish we had a build thread on the '70 Mustang.
Would love to see construction photos of how they built that tailpan but its not that kind of build thread, they have better uses for their time. |

I have a pic with the metal man cutting some sheet stock on a Beverly Shear for the pan - but it's a pretty boring post dude!! LOL SUTTON will post the build of the GT car when he's got something to post.... right now --- it's nothing than stuff on order.... body is due in Calif or may even be on it's way..... once they have the BODY -- the chassis will go on the table. The chassis shop didn't want to start a chassis without a body to pull from. |

Freak'in Awsum !!!!!!!!!
|
Seriously, great lines. It works with the truck but also says there's something more here. Maybe even something sporty. I dig it. Glad this is working out so well for you, Greg

Thanks Trey!! I'm so happy with this shop! They can "design and build" and they've given fantastic guidance for the small things.... and still keep in mind the goal at the same time (daily driven). I guess even a blind squirrel gets a nut once in awhile. I hate to say it -- but I actually owe Lillard for that call. While I was generally unhappy -- I hadn't decided to pull the plug on him.... Until Charley called. Then it was BAM! |

:P |
If you're an Instagram user ------ CHRA posts progress pics on their account....
@CHRATEXAS They have better pics of how they did this rear valance on there -- than they even sent to me!! LOL |
That gas cap looks a lot better!

Oh, okay I see exactly how it was put together now ! |

I was laughing when I posted that!! :mock: |
Whenever I need a laugh all I need to do is check here and see what you guys are up to. :) :thankyou:

I always imagine this site as a bunch of yahoos in a garage - friday night - beer in hand.... kinda the way a rat rod gets built. LOL |

It looks sweet Greg.
|
Looking good Greg!! What color are you staining the bed wood?
|
Quote:
Whatever the color is that leaks from what's put in there..... So - rear end 90W - I have two Chocolate Labs..... Scratches from large rifle cases.... Charley's underwear.... LOL Plan is for a black that lets the grain still show thru. Can't remember the exact color I picked. |
Damn Greg thats BAD AZZ !
|
Awesome truck. September, wow that's coming quick. Looking forward to seeing it.
|
Very nice progress. I love the lines.
|
looking awesome!
|
Looks great Greg... I can't remember if it was shown or not but what are they doing for a fuel filler?
At this rate it'll be fine before my house... |
Man those wheels are BADASS! the truck is looking killer Greg! eta?
|
Let me take a guess and say you don't miss Pinkee's.........
|
Quote:
Thanks Wayne! Quote:
Thank you! I'm liking it more and more as it gets finished! Quote:
Thanks Stuart - yes - this shop seems to actually get it.... and it's a head down march forward. No excuses - just progress. Quote:
ME TOO! Thanks! Quote:
It's looking like a project might actually get finished to me!! LOL Quote:
I don't know -- can't remember..... I think it was one of those filter regulator styles from GM.... Your house will be fine..... They're never done when they say they will be - and they never cost less... LOL Quote:
I like yours too!!! Thanks for the idea!! ETA is sometime to get shakedown miles on it before the September Hall of Fame tour -- which this truck WILL be on. Quote:
WHO??? |
Nothing worse than one of these long drawn out threads on a project that takes forever. :action-smiley-027: :whistling: :underchair: :peepwall:
|
looks fasntastic Greg! congrats.
|
Quote:
No kidding!! This has taken way too long... Although you have to give me back the year I was trying to die. After that.... it shoulda been D-O-N-E !! The kool part -- it's gonna be done and then I'm going to drive it 3000 miles on its maiden voyage. <rummaging around for the blow me emoji) Quote:
Thanks buddy!! Where ya been???? |
I absolutely love all the subtle details. The truck is stunning, can't wait to see it finished. I'm sure you can't either......
|

Thanks for noticing! |

I grew up in hot rod household. My dad instilled in me that some of the best mods are the ones that most people never even pick up on. Mike is right on the money with that quote. I love going to shows and looking at vehicles and finding the "where's Waldo" of modifications. |
Quote:
This truck is full of them. :) |
Quote:
BUT I still think the fuel filler needs to be moved to the body line on the fender and it needs to be a "Crafty B" flip filler with a "**** Cancer!" inscription! FWIW I'll buy it if you'll put it on the truck! |
