Hey Wayne, Not to bad, although sometimes you take a couple steps foward and then some back. I was having a tough time bleeding my hyd clutch set up. So I jump in the car while my son is under it getting ready to crack the bleeder open while I pump the pedal. I lay my hand on the steering wheel and the column tilt mechanism decides its going to blow its self out of its detent and ratchet all the way to the top position. Now Im sitting there saying WTF this is a brand new column from one of the best in the industry, I start playing with it and from the middle position to the top it will not lock, just slips out of every position except the two lowest. Im seeing red. Tell my son were done, get out of the shop because sh*t is going to be flying around this place. So I call them and they tell me they had a rash of them go out in late 08, my car was still having the body done while I bought the part, They were very apologetic, although I told her that I would have to sacrifice her first born if I have to rip my whole instrument cluster out to remove the column, luckily for her I did not. They turned it, in 48 hours and another 2 hours of install time and I was back were I started. So getting back to the Hyd clutch, wow, I pumped fluid from the bottom to the top, pedal bled it, and tried the mityvac hand pump and couldnt get the air out. Finally I hooked up my 8 cfm rotary vacuum pump through a huge pickle jar, pulled a serious vacuum and sucked a quart of fluid through the system in a minute or two and its perfect. Finally got to install the DSE rear sway bar and all the E-brake cables are completed. Im so close to firing it, I need a group34/78 red top, nobody has them locally here, I really want to buy it local in case it takes a dump on me. Been reading a lot of mixed reviews on them lately. My battery tray is milled for that exact battery so Im stuck with it. I had great sucess with my red top in my 67 so Im hoping there quality is still good. All the fluids are in the engine now, so it shouldnt be long now. Got my Crow harnesses they are so cool.

Nice progress! Personally I'm not a fan of any badging on cowl hoods - less is more for me.

Sorry to hear about the column. I can understand your blood pressure going through the roof. I'm glad to hear your getting close. I like the numbers on the fender. I'm on the fence for the ones on the hood. I was thinking of having mine airbrushed on. The car's looking great. I can't wait to hear your first video when its running. Those belts will keep you in your seat for sure!

Well today was to be the first fire up of the ls7, unfortunately the fuel pump(ricks gs340) doesn't want to turn on. The computor is an e38 and when the key goes to the ignition I get 12volts at the pump for 3 seconds then the voltage goes to zero. The problem is while the voltage is present I dont here the pump running. The strange thing is when I bought the battery a week ago, I hooked it up with a dry gas tank, and turned the ignition one click to far and heard the pump growl for a second or two and immediatly shut it off and pulled the pump fuse to check the rest of the electrical system. Now the tank has 12 gallons in it and it dont want to turn on, I cant believe I could have damaged the pump with a momentaty turn on dry. If you guys have any ideas what to check I would appreciate it.

Thanks Rich
