Thank you to all for the nice words. I am really happy with the way the feature turned out.

This just came out from K&N:

http://www.knfilters.com/news/news.aspx?id=4334#

The title is a little misleading. I only wish it was true! :(

You need to get to the end to read: "He ended up placing 1st for the Road Course Hot Lap, and 2nd in the overall race."

Congrats on the cover shot and article Brian, very deserving. I'd say a lot of people look to your Camaro for inspiration.

57hemicuda 01-17-2013 04:45 AM

You just got to love a Camaro with big American bulges.LOL Great cover and feature Brian, love the car.

73CPCAMARO 02-09-2013 06:56 PM

My plan with this Camaro was to give me and my Dad's Corvette a rest for a couple years. I started autocrossing the Corvette in 1985. I have learned everything I know in that car. The Corvette was starting to show signs of non stop enjoyment. So, we built the Camaro. Right after OUSCI and the last Goodguys event in Pleasanton, I had a couple months to work on the Corvette. I took it to my body shop and gave the car a makeover. Cracks, chips, and stress marks were removed and new paint was applied. I also wanted to give the car a new look, so I removed all of the chrome and blacked it all out. I have interior work to complete later this spring. I will be running the Corvette at various west coast events in the next couple months. I have enjoyed this car over the last 28 years and I hope to continue its long and successfull history. See you guys in the next few weeks!

What gives, only a side are rear 3/4 shot? I'll probably see the back of it racing. I want to see the front of it!

Che70velle 02-09-2013 07:14 PM

Quite a pair of cars you have! Love the Vette!

WSSix 02-09-2013 07:15 PM

So awesome! Can we get some more details on the vette? Are the front wheels moved forward or is it simply the reshaped wheel wells making it look that way?

Stock wheel base. It may be the photo and flare making it look that way.

Best looking car to ever grace this website.

dunnjun 02-09-2013 09:43 PM

WOW Brian! The Vette looks Bad A! When you freshen a car up, you really freshen it up. Can't wait to see it in person, and get the lowdown. Less than two weeks til the start of the season! :burnout: :burnout: :burnout:

57hemicuda 02-10-2013 05:58 AM

I agree with Todd, the midyear Vettes are the most attractive cars to ever come out of Detroit. That one with the bulged sides and blacked out trim is just a major upgrade over GM's original design. Been wanting to do a midyear since I was 16, I don't think there are any improvements that could be made to your design, love it. Ron

JohnC 02-10-2013 06:26 AM

I hate to be redundant, but wow--that thing is awesome!! It looks like :warning: ...standing still. Where can I get a midyear bod to look like that?!?

Congrats--you have some killer rides for sure..

John

Cris@JCG 02-10-2013 12:00 PM

This build is awesome, I've been following it for a long time but finally registered. I am interested in a steering column setup similar to yours. I was curious how you wired up your blinkers, hazards, horn, etc.... That is if you have those luxuries? I would assume toggle switches?

I use toggle switches for the dome light, back up lights, interior fan, and signal switch. GM style headlamp switch and wiper switch. Starter button for a horn.

Brian

Jordanh 05-15-2013 12:38 PM

Thanks for that info! Was that wiper switch a direct replacement for the stock switch? I currently have my wipers hooked up to a toggle for high-low and a toggle for the window wash... Which I might eliminate. If I could get some more info on that switch that'd be awesome. Also, did your trans not have a harness for the reverse lights? Maybe something went over my head there?

73CPCAMARO 05-15-2013 05:35 PM

No backup light switch on a GForce GF4A.

I got to experience a little Hollywood over the winter with the Camaro. After SEMA, Fast 6 called and wanted to use my car in the driveway of Toretto's house. My car is to be Han's car, along with a beatiful Cuda, GTR, and on the street a Lambo, and Riviera. You see my car for a few seconds at the end of the movie. Not a lot of camera time, but it is still very cool. It has been a fun ride for my Dad, Daughter, and myself. We spent 3 days on the set with the cast and crew. Really cool people. Last night, my Daughter and I went to the Hollywood premiere and had a blast.

Here are some shots from the set:

I bet that is a cool experience and an honor to be chosen. I think the Fast folks have done a pretty good job at gradually mixing in enough of all genres to capture any car guys attention.

chr2002ca 05-22-2013 11:32 AM

That's way cool. Congrats on that. I look forward to catching a glimpse of it in the movie.
