As for the front when you down as low as we are the inner fender becomes the problem. However the Anvil inner fenders give more "Height" clearance and also turning clearance for a 275 or even a 295. |
Vince has shown (in a couple of threads) a outer wheel house mod to gain clearance. Unfortunately on my car when the quarter was replaced they pushed it in fairly tight at the lip. I could feel there wasn't much to be gained, but to be sure I drilled a pilot hole from the inside and only found 3/16".

Thanks Marty and Scott. I'll keep the info in mind if I ever get to that point. One of these days I'll have to do quarters. I figure that will be when I tub the car if I tub it.

Yeah, I've seen what Vince does and I want to do the mod.
On the passenger side it seems to have plenty of room, however on the driver side.....not so much. I suppose when they did the quarters, that hidden gap between the skin and and the outer wheelhouse was not a concern. The sheet metal work is very well done and I can't fault it for that. I'm considering knocking it loose at the lip and attempting to push it out, I only need to gain about 3/8". I'd like to replace the lip with 3/16" rod anyway. I'll wait though, my wheels and tires are on the way.....325/30/19 which is 26.7" tall and 13" wide. After the mini tub, I've got 14.75" width in the tub. Extra space can't hurt but I'm not sure I'll need it. Ideas? |

Yep, and now is the time to do it!

I'm not sure that's going to give you an inch where you need it, but this is the mod we were talking about. Sorry I didn't mention it when you had the quarters off. |

Test fitted the fat bike on the 70 today and couldn't get it to work on my Rocky Mount tray.
For now I swapped my Kuit tray and it worked but it's a bulky tray in the car. So I will be modifying the tray and hoping I can get the Rocky Mount tray to work. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...c3ae682125.jpg |
The perspective of the picture makes the bike look HUGE! Glad you're out enjoying the car and the bike.

Before the car left Kenny's to come home I asked him to make me down bars in the engine bay which would eventually hold the remote reservoir shocks by Ride Tech.

When the car left Kenny's the car had some motor issues. No fault of Kenny's but after 6 months Kenny & I decided to give the car to my buddy Don at Village Auto. Kenny and Stan were able to fix the main issue but were unable to figure out why it would idle and had terrible driveability. Well after many hours of screwing around with the car Don and the guys at Village Auto figured it out. The Holley HP carb that was our problem and it seems no matter what we did the carb would dump fuel into the motor when the fuel pump kicked on even if the car wasn't running. So with a quick call to Summit we ordered up a new old school 650 Holley carb and all of our problems were solved. The car now runs great and it is a tire smoking king which I am certain is going to get me a ticket or two. |
Marty glad to hear it got figured out.

Apparently I am way way behind on updates.
So I am not a big fan of chrome or polished wheels as I really don't like cleaning them and on certain cars it just looks good. For me I just didn't like how they looked so the wheels and the trim came off and were coated in a Titanium color to give the car a more industrial look. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...8090ad21dc.jpg http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...5b574606da.jpg |
All positive changes Marty, really like it!

Seems I have an issue with cleaning cars and chrome is just way to much work. This is more my speed Carter Hickman did this rendering for me years ago and I think I am going to ask him to update it and put on my new wheels. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...966c26a-me.jpg |
Thats very cool Marty, huh, I know a certain "going to be" blue Camaro thats just heading to the body shop in a week or so :bitchslap:

So when the car came home back in October I gave it a bath for the first time and Satin paint is really easy to wash. Just make
sure you use a Boars Hair brush as you don't want to polish the finish. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...d67500a-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...360239a-me.jpg |
So first thing that we needed to figure out was how to get rid of the old car gas smell.
First up replace the gas cap. The tank I received from Goodmark was for a 71 and up and the cap we had was for a 70. I big thank you goes to the guys at Goodmark for helping me figure this out. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...fed5c975b3.jpg Next up was a filter/vent on a budget. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...c110b2cee3.jpg http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...34d0988a1b.jpg http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...ab005d6f96.jpg So 2 months later and no smell. Sometimes budget fixes work great |
Last year Victor was kind enough to do a rendering for me.

Nice work, Marty. Did you use that easy to bend tubing that's copper something or another for your fuel lines?

So I took the car to a local cruise night. People really seemed to like the simplicity of the car.
