Late last night I realized the dash lights weren't working. The right turn signal also was not functional. I dug in this morning and found blown fuses in both circuits. I definitely had a short on my hands. For those of you that are not real savvy with electronics the key to finding the short is eliminating segments of the wiring that you think has the short. In these old cars it's a piece of cake. It turned out to be my brand spanking new right front parking lamp. They must of chaffed the wires during assembly. I unplugged it and everything is perfect. I'll probably disasemble it and try to fix it vs send it back.
My first view of the gauges at night. :D http://i200.photobucket.com/albums/a...9/IMG_0871.jpg I spent most of the rest of the night installing my emergency brake cable. Cut the lokar cables have everthing set up perfect. Push down on the pedal and it's rock hard and the wheels aren't moving with a breaker bar. About the third time it sinks to the floor. Pile of crap OER front cable broke third pull. :unibrow: So brand new OER parts are my two bugs to fix for the night. My works flawless. http://i200.photobucket.com/albums/a...9/IMG_0873.jpg http://i200.photobucket.com/albums/a...9/IMG_0870.jpg |

Well I finally got my front brakes. Have to say Frank over at Prodigy Customs came through for me as always. 13" rotors have been on back order and he hooked me up with 14" for free. Keep in mind guys that I have spent a nickel or two thisyear with him so don't go asking. They are flipping huge!
http://i200.photobucket.com/albums/a...9/IMG_0880.jpg http://i200.photobucket.com/albums/a...9/IMG_0893.jpg I have only had time to install the drivers side. Had to buy C6 bolts from Chevy for the mounting brackets. I also had to clearance the spindle slightly with a aggressive file for the caliper bracket to mount flush. Plenty of clearance now and the wheels fit nice as well. Drivers side is all shimmed out and ready for some fun. http://i200.photobucket.com/albums/a...9/IMG_0895.jpg http://i200.photobucket.com/albums/a...9/IMG_0889.jpg |
It's alive!!!!
I fired her up for the first time this morning. She sounds really really good and healthy. Only 90 today but the fans kept it right at 195 where I have it programmed. Stoked is an understatement right now.
Crank your speakers for some big block music http://i200.photobucket.com/albums/a...h_MVI_0901.jpg I need to play with timing and idle speed still. About a tea spoon of oil on the floor from one oil line at filter adapter after 20 minutes. Think they probably just need a littl more torque. I have since learned these fittings need to be pretty tight after my fuel fiasco. |
Keep at it Brother! It's looking awesome!! Be over as soon as I get back in town for a look.
Can't wait to see that sucker on the road!:unibrow: |
